Club launch Cook's 'Relentless' documentary

Lewis Cook is relentless.

In December 2018, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Huddersfield Town, which ruled him out for the best part of nine months.

Just over two years later, it happened again, this time away at Preston North End.

The journey back to fitness took time and patience, but there was nothing that would stand in the way of Cook doing what he loved once again.

afcbTV were there every step of the way and were granted special access to the midfielder to capture unique fly-on-the-wall footage throughout his rehab.

Starting from the days leading up to the operation, our cameras captured the early discomfort from the hospital bed to the first steps back home with wife, Loretta.

We spend time with Cook in the treatment room, in the gym and even mic him up on pre-season in Spain, getting an insight into his training and interaction with other teammates.

The cameras follow the 25-year-old as he returns to mainstream sessions, before going inside the dressing room for his first minutes back for the development squad in a Premier League Cup game against Arsenal.

It all leads to one moment, the first team return. With the Cherries 3-0 up at home to Swansea City at the start of November, a little over seven months since re-injury, Cook came off the bench for the final period of the game in front of a packed out Vitality Stadium.

He would go on to play a huge role in AFC Bournemouth’s promotion back to the Premier League and be one of the first names on the teamsheet for the all-important run in.

Over the course of Cook’s rehab, we spoke to the physios that were there every step of the way, AFC Bournemouth’s club doctor, plus head coach Scott Parker.

We also hear extensively from those who know him best away from football, including Loretta, while Cook was on hand to document his journey via our cameras and GoPros throughout.

A story designed to educate and entertain, with plenty of laughs along the way from Cook as you’ve never seen him before.
