Autism Wessex, PramaLife, Access Dorset and Dorset Search and Rescue will continue as AFC Bournemouth’s Charity Partners until the end of 2020.
The club is delighted to extend its support and help raise awareness of the four organisations during what has been a challenging period due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Autism Wessex delivers vital care to hundreds of autistic children and adults in the community and their frontline staff have been putting themselves and their families at risk in order to care for those that need them during the pandemic.
They are currently raising funds to purchase specialist equipment and a new playground at Portfield School where they recently opened a new Sensory Multi Use Games area.
PramaLife continues to work tirelessly providing support to older people and carers who have been affected by the circumstances that Covid-19 has brought.
Their care charity supports vulnerable shielding individuals as well as providing help to older people who have been unable to shop online and Dementia sufferers.
Access Dorset continued to operate throughout the Covid-19 lockdown, finding new and innovative ways to support disabled people, older people and carers who found themselves more vulnerable and socially isolated in these extraordinary times.
As measures necessary to contain the pandemic continue to be eased, they are stepping up their activities to support people to live independent lives.
Dorset Search and Rescue is a team of trained volunteers who work with Dorset Police, Coastguard and other emergency services in the search, rescue or recovery of high risk and vulnerable missing persons.
Additionally, they provide swift and flood water rescue teams, assistance in the search for significant objects and support to the statutory agencies at major incidents.
All four of our Charity Partners have remained fully operational during the Covid-19 outbreak and we are looking forward to continuing our relationships with them.
