Cherries squad spread Christmas cheer at Poole Hospital

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The children’s ward at Poole Hospital received some special visitors as members of the AFC Bournemouth squad and staff were on hand to bring them presents this Christmas.

Half of the first-team spent their afternoon Poole Hospital to spend time to patients and families who are spending their Christmas on the ward, with the other half visiting Julia’s House.

Dishing out presents, signing autographs and taking selfies was all part of the squad’s visit, something which Lewis Cook feels is really important.

He said: “It’s fantastic for us to be able to come to the hospital and have such an impact.

“We met lots of little boys and girls and it was great to see their spirits lifted, we loved coming to visit.

“We met a little girl and I gave her a guitar which she was absolutely buzzing about, so it’s big for us that we can be in a position to help particularly at this time of year.”

Steve Cook was also present on the ward and added: “Nobody wants to be in hospital of course, let alone at Christmas time.

“So for us to be here just to give people a lift is fantastic. All the lads look forward to these visits every year, it means a lot to everyone.”
