AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn received his honorary doctorate from Bournemouth University on Wednesday.
The chairman was awarded the honour at the Bournemouth International Centre as part of the Faculty of Management's graduation ceremony.
Alongside Paralympic athlete Lucy Shuker, Jeff received his doctorate for his dedication and endeavour towards the football club and in the local community over the past ten years.
He made a passionate speech to all of the graduates in attendance and was on hand to speak and mingle with them afterwards alongside his family.
On an emotional day, Jeff was extremely humbled to receive the distinguished award and dedicated it to everyone associated with the football club.
"It's absolutely unbelievable," he said.
"I feel even more humbled after the event than I was before it.
"I'm so proud of everyone involved with the football club, the community, the supporters, the staff - I accepted this offer on their behalf.
"It is a huge team effort, I just happen to have been selected for this honour, but I do so on behalf of everyone who has ever been associated with the club in the last ten years.
"Ten years ago, you'd have been sectioned if you said we'd be in the Premier League or even the Championship! Even more so if you'd have said I'd have been standing on the stage receiving this incredible award.
"The local community is really dear to us and I truly am honoured to be a part of such a special day."
