A message from Jeff Mostyn

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Former AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn writes an open letter to supporters as he transitions into a new role at the club.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Bill Foley on his successful purchase of the Club and wish him and his family every success. I know they will do everything in their power to ensure the club continues its incredible upward trajectory.

It has been the most remarkable sixteen years. From purchasing the club in 2007 in its hour of need, followed by the journey from League Two through to the heady heights of the Premier League, it feels more akin to a fantasy story than the reality we have all enjoyed.

To have been your Chairman through the past decade fills me with great pride, and to share the experience with such incredible members of staff, players, management and supporters is what has made it so special. What we achieved proved, “Together, Anything is Possible”.

To me it will always be one of the most amazing stories in English football history, and without Maxim Demin’s unbelievable commitment and financial support, it simply would not have been possible. The club reached new levels when he took control, and his contribution is something we will always be grateful for.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my wife Rosie for her unwavering support and that of my family, especially in those dark early days.

Following the takeover, and after discussions with Bill Foley, I am delighted to start a new role as Club Ambassador where I will continue to support the club and the community. It goes without saying that my commitment to this football club will never cease.

My gratitude, kindest regards and best wishes goes to everyone who has shared the past sixteen years with me, and here’s to new beginnings and continued success.

Jeff
