2022/23 away kit launched

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Inspired by the palm trees on Bournemouth’s iconic seafront, the tropical foliage influences the graphic design of this season’s away kit.

Featuring a lightweight micro-eyelet to help alleviate sweat, the shirt has a graphic-printed front, stylised rib crew neckline and a dropped back hem with a twin needle finish.

‘AFCB’ is printed on the back of the neck, with a woven licensed label and club crest on the front.

As for the shorts, an elasticated waistband and internal drawcord are perfect for a secure fit, while a stacked embroidered diamond and woven club crest create a smart finish.

The socks are knitted white and have a blue calf single hoop. There’s also a white jacquard stacked diamond to the front of the leg, once again with ‘AFCB’ lettering on the back. A cotton footbed with an elasticated cuff makes for a nice finish around the ankle, which will provide comfort on the pitch.

As part of the creative process, representatives from the Supporter Experience Group, Equality Focus Group and the club’s Product Ambassadors took part in number of sessions over the course of a year resulting in them voting for the design that would be selected as the away kit for the 2022/23 season.

Head of Brand and Creative, Matt Payne, spoke with afcb.co.uk: “It was great to meet with supporters and talk to them about not only the kit process, but our brand direction as well. We’re immensely proud of our surroundings and it was great to share how our location provides a constant source of inspiration into our visual identity and kit culture.”

Justin Bailey, Head of Retail, added: “It was fantastic to have our supporters at the heart of the selection process, a truly collaborative approach.”

The kit will be available to purchase from Saturday 30th July in the Superstore and online here
