AFC Bournemouth Women continued their fine start to the season with a 1-0 away win over Wycombe Wanderers Ladies on Sunday.
Hannah Bennett was the matchwinner as her early goal, direct from a corner, earned the Cherries their fourth straight league win.
The result against the Chairgirls keeps the side top of the Southern Region Women's Premier League table with the victory also meaning the Cherries have started their campaign with seven straight wins.
Inside four minutes the Cherries had hit the front, as after Rosie Eden had won her side a corner, captain Bennett's delivery curled straight into the top corner.
Wycombe fought back and almost leveled when they hit the crossbar with a free-kick, and before the break they hit the woodwork again when a corner came back off the post.
The Cherries went close after the restart when a Chairgirls goal kick hit new signing Rachel Anderson, falling for Rebecca Miles, only for her shot to be blocked.
Steph Small needed to be at her best to save a dangerous Wycombe shot and the Cherries 'keeper was resolute again as she came to claim a high ball from a free-kick as the game approached the final ten minutes.
As the final whistle neared, Erin Thickett was played in one-on-one for the away side, but saw the 'keeper save her low shot, the Cherries holding on for their win and keeping a first clean sheet of the season.
