AFC Bournemouth Women defeated Woodley United 6-4 on Sunday, keeping up their 100% record in the Southern Region Women’s Football League.

A double from Rosie Eden, as well as strikes from Jade Hockey, Hannah Bennett, Aimee-Rose Collier and Katie Kingshott all helped the Cherries to victory.

However, it wasn’t all plain sailing, as the hosts took the lead just two minutes in through Rosie Page-Smith.

Just over ten minutes later and the striker had her second of the afternoon to double Woodley’s lead and her tally for the day.

But, Bournemouth heads weren’t down for long, as Hockey struck almost immediately with a smart finish.

In an end-to-end game, it was Woodley who struck next to make the score 3-1 in their favour, Madelyn Sawyer with the goal.

Just before the half-hour mark, the game had seen its fifth goal, Eden firing to the left of the ‘keeper to keep her side in it.

Hannah Bennett then found the net to pull the Cherries level, before Eden got another to poke the visitors in front, receiving the ball from a throw in and firing home to make the score 4-3 at half time.

With the second half starting much quieter than the first had ended, it took until the 82^nd minute for another breakthrough, with Woodley levelling the scores thanks to a 25-yard free-kick from Ellen Surtees.

However, their lead was short lived and Collier pounced for the Cherries moments later, before Kingshott gave the side some breathing space with a sensational strike from distance.
