AFC Bournemouth Under-21s continued their good pre-season form with a 2-0 victory over Slough Town.

The young Cherries had put in the hard yards in their pre-season training camp in Alicante, also securing an excellent draw with Northampton Town at Pinatar Arena.

And Shaun Cooper's side continued their positive trajectory back on English soil thanks to second-half strikes from a trialist and first-year professional Jake Scrimshaw.

After a goalless first-half, it took six minutes into the second-half for the Cherries to secure the opener.

A shot on the edge of the box was blocked and the trialist was able to control the loose ball in the area. He swivelled and showed great composure to arrow a low effort into the far corner.

The Cherries forced home goalkeeper Jack Turner into a number of saves before the second goal came with 17 minutes to go.

Scrimshaw showed his predatory instincts on the last shoulder of the defence, receiving a through-ball and smashing a low drive across the 'keeper into the net in the box.

The two clinical finishes ensured a well-earned victory for Cooper's young side against the National League South outfit.
