AFC Bournemouth Under-21s were defeated 2-1 away at Brighton and Hove Albion in a pre-season friendly.

Charlie Seaman's low drive wasn't enough for the Cherries against the strong Albion side who will be contending at the top of the Premier League 2.

Shaun Cooper's men fell 1-0 behind when an unstoppable effort from 25-yards flew into the bottom corner.

And they were 2-0 behind in the second-half when a stray pass in midfield allowed the Gulls to swarm the penalty area, with a pass across goal being converted in the middle.

But Seaman's goal did give the Cherries hope late on.

Jordan Zemura, who played for the first team against Lyon on Saturday, won the ball back and that started a counter attack.

The move meant that Brennan Camp, who had steamed forward from full-back, got the ball in the box and after some great determination to keep the ball, he laid the ball to Seaman who smashed the ball low into the bottom corner.

The goal wasn't enough to earn the Cherries a draw in their pre-season friendly at Brighton's training ground.
