Connor Kurran-Browne inspired AFC Bournemouth to an emphatic 5-0 victory over EFL Youth Alliance rivals Yeovil Town today.
Kurran-Browne bagged four goals in another convincing performance from the Cherries at Canford Arena.
Euan Pollock, who was drafted into the starting line-up after scoring twice as a substitute in the team’s last outing, also got himself on the scoresheet.
There was an element of good fortune about Kurran-Browne’s 29th-minute opener which took a wicked deflection to wrong-foot the Yeovil goalkeeper.
But his second goal was a beautiful finish, Kurran-Browne doubling the Cherries’ lead in the 32nd minute.
A perfectly-weighted cross fell to him inside the box and he chested it down before volleying powerfully into the bottom corner.
The Glovers were almost gifted a goal back when a deflected clearance flew towards the bottom corner but a quick reaction by Joe Besant denied the opposition a goal.
Ben Hughes tried his luck from 25 yards with a powerful drive, but again, Besant was there to rescue the situation when he tipped it over the crossbar.
The Cherries kept the pressure on towards the end of the first half and Luke Gray went close to adding a third, only to see his effort go wide.
Pollock’s fine finish made it 3-0 before boss Alan Connell made no fewer than five substitutions within the space of ten minutes.
In the 79th minute, Kurran-Browne completed his hat-trick with another deflected effort that flew into the top corner.
And two minutes later, Kurran-Browne slid in to meet a low, driven cross to grab his fourth and complete the scoring.
