Commentary By

Job done.

It was by no means pretty, but we have three points in the bag to bring back to Dorset.

The Clarets provided a real battle for Iraola's side out there, with the Cherries' cutting edge making the difference.

Thank you for joining us and we'll be back for coverage of Sheffield United at home next weekend.

Final two changes just after the goal

Ouattara and √únal come on to replace Kerkez and Solanke as we look to see out the three points.

We'll also have six minutes of additional time.

Burnley 0-2 AFC Bournemouth

Cook pings an excellent pass out to Semenyo to set the forward running at the Clarets goal.

He then cuts onto his left foot and slams beyond Trafford to all but seal the three points!

Into the final ten

We've got just ten minutes left on the clock here at Turf Moor.

It hasn't been a classic by any means, and could still go either way as we approach the closing stages.

Semenyo causing problems

The forward has two good chances back to back.

The first sees him hammer narrowly wide first time following a pass slipped across the box.

Shortly after a pass out to the right from Cook sees him drive inside and fire a left-footed strike past the same post, just a little closer to the target.

Another Cherries change

Philip enters the action in place of the goalscorer, Kluivert.

Great shift, Justin!

Burnley have the ball in the back of the net

Cullen flicks the ball in from close range and the Clarets have the ball in the back of the net.

The referee calls for a foul on Smith though, and after a quick VAR check, the lead remains intact.

Big chances for Dom and Tavs

A quick attack first sees Solanke slipped in by Kluivert and he quickly gets a shot away which is well saved by Trafford.

Cherries manage to maintain pressure and add some neat play to present Tavernier with a chance, too.

On his right foot, the winger hammers hard and the near post but it goes narrowly wide.

Another slow start

It's been a relatively closely fought opening to this half, but neither side are excelling.

Burnley have had more of the possession but rarely looked like getting in behind the Bournemouth defence.

Regardless, there's a long way left to go here with a one-goal lead.

Back to it with a change

We're back underway, with Scott having replaced Christie.

Leading at the break

It's a nervy end to the half but we go in at the break with the lead intact.

Burnley certainly ended the opening 45 the stronger, but couldn't make the breakthrough.

We'll be back in 15 minutes for the second half.

Big save from Neto

The Clarets have a free-kick on the edge of the box and Taylor strikes it excellently.

Thankfully, the Cherries captain is equal to the effort and manages to beat it away with his left wrist.

The home side is certainly the team on top as we approach half-time.

We'll play six additional minutes at the end of the half...

A big block from Smudge

A neat Burnley breakaway first sees Fofana denied by Neto before the rebound comes to Bruun Larsen.

With the Cherries stopper out of position from the save, it comes to Smith to block the second effort.

He does just that and denies the Clarets winger a clear strike at goal to maintain the lead.

Not the tidiest of games

Both sides seem a little bit loose in possession at the moment, with plenty of stray passes all over the pitch.

The Cherries certainly look to have more cutting edge when the chances are presented, though.

And, most importantly, the side remains in the lead here.

Burnley coming back into it

The Clarets are by no means out of this clash, and are pushing for a goal again.

They started well and have had a few chances in quick succession.

The latest sees Vitinho make some space on the edge of the box before curling high and wide.

Sunday scenes

It was by means the best of starts from the away side, but you can't argue with that!

The ball over the top from Cook is clearly into a dangerous area and Kluivert does excellently to capitalise for the opener.

Burnley 0-1 AFC Bournemouth

Immediately following the change, the Cherries take the lead!

A long ball over the top is latched onto by Kluivert, he feints past his nearest defender and lashes home from close range.

It's an excellent, direct attack from the team - get in!

First change

It is Mepham who enters the action in place of Senesi in the Cherries' first change.

That's a real shame for the Argentine, who has dominated at the back in recent weeks.

Shakey start

Burnley started well here before the Cherries managed to force a few chances.

Since then though, Senesi has gone down holding his leg after sprinting after a loose ball and it looks like he needs to be replaced.

Looking at the bench, Mepham is seemingly the obvious candidate to replace him.

Early chance for Burnley

Neto has to be alert and he is following an early chance for the hosts.

A good, pulled-back ball into the box meets the path of Odobert and he fires a low shot at goal.

The Cherries stopper gets behind it well though, and holds.

Lift off

Odobert gets the first half underway for Burnley and we're up and running in Lancashire.

Up the Cherries!

Five minutes out

The warm-ups are done and the teams are just about to re-enter the pitch ahead of kick-off.

We're now five minutes from getting underway here at Turf Moor!

Settled centre-back pair

For the eighth game in a row, Senesi accompanies Zabarnyi at the centre of defence.

Over the whole season, the team has kept five clean sheets in all competitions when the pair has started together.

Getting acclimatised

The lads are in the building and getting used to their surroundings here in Lancashire.

Warm-ups are underway and we're half an hour out from kick-off at Turf Moor.

A sight for sore eyes

With some concerns over the availability of Solanke this week, his spot in the starting XI is a welcome sight.

He's netted 14 goals and provided 3 assists in 25 top-flight outings this campaign, doubtlessly making him one of Iraola's key men.

And the Clarets' team

Here's how our hosts are set up today...

Kompany opts for three changes from the team which was beaten 3-0 by Crystal Palace last time out.

Vitinho, Cullen and Bruun Larsen replace Brownhill, Amdouni Gudmundsson.

Solanke starts

Here's how we line up at Turf Moor this afternoon...

The question on everyone's lips before the game was if Solanke would start, and he does!

The whole starting XI goes unchanged from the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last time out in the Premier League.

Last time at the Turf

It's been a few years since the last time the Cherries were on this patch.

The last meeting between the two sides here was an FA Cup fifth-round tie in February 2021.

On that occasion, Sam Surridge and Junior Stanislas bagged in a 2-0 win for the then-Championship Cherries.
