Beaten in the Carabao Cup

It's the Reds who progress to the last eight of the Carabao Cup.

The Cherries certainly gave a good account of themselves and arguably deserved more, but Liverpool's quality showed and secured them passage to the next round.

Thank you for joining us and we'll be back again for the trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

90+1'

Into added time we go

The board goes up and we have five more minutes to find another leveller.

Chances seem to be running out a little bit for the home side, it has to be said.

85'

Cherries still pushing

We're behind going into the final five minutes but still looking for the leveller.

The Reds still look dangerous but it's certainly Iraola's team which are looking the more threatening.

Having said that, Kelleher hasn't been tested for a little while.

81'

Final Cherries changes

Moore and Aarons are the players coming on and it's Scott's and Smith's evenings that are over.

The Reds also make a change with Jota coming on for Gakpo.

76'

The Reds make another change

Szoboszlai goes off in place of Dutchman Gravenberch.

74'

More Bournemouth changes

Goalscorer Kluivert and Semenyo go off in place of Brooks and Traoré.

It's been a great shift from the two forwards.

70'

The Reds go back in front

AFC Bournemouth 1-2 Liverpool

That is sublime from Darwin Núñez.

He's found out on the left, he then cuts inside and curls an expert right-footed strike out of the reach of Radu and in.

Again, unfortunate from the Cherries who have been on top since levelling.

67'

Not letting up!

The Cherries are on the hunt for more!

Semenyo picks up possession at the halfway line and the pitch opens up for him to play in Tavernier.

He looks to have a clear run at goal but the Reds get back well and make a last-ditch clearance to prevent him from squaring to Solanke.

64'

The levelerrrrrrrr!!!!

AFC Bournemouth 1-1 Liverpool

Scott whips in a fantastic corner and Kluivert is arriving at the back post.

The Dutchman can't miss from a yard out and he duly delivers, applying the finish for his first Cherries goal!

62'

Almost an instant impact!

Tavernier hammers at goal from near where he bagged against Fulham last season.

It's an equally dangerous effort which dips and swerves in the wind.

Somehow Kelleher gets to it though, and punches behind for a corner which comes to nothing.

61'

Some changes

Philip comes off for the Cherries to be replaced by Tavernier.

Liverpool have also made some changes, with Alexander-Arnold, Mac Allister and Núñez coming on.

60'

First chance of the half for the Reds

A cross to the back post finds Salah and he flicks towards goal.

The ball loops up and, fortunately for the Cherries, drops wide of the far post.

53'

So nearly again!

Cherries have a corner which Scott bends into the box.

The wind catches it and it nearly evades everyone before finding the back of the net.

Unfortunately, Gomez gets back just in time and heads clear of the Liverpool goal.

50'

Knocking again

Christie sets Solanke in down the right and he races forward.

He can't quite evade the defender so shoots from a tight angle powerful.

It looks dangerous but slams into the side netting for a goal-kick.

47'

First chance of the half

Cherries again have started with more intensity and have had the first sight of goal.

The pitch opens up for Scott and he comes forward a little before hammering narrowly high and wide of Kelleher's goal.

46'

Back to it

Cherries get the second half underway - it's a big 45 minutes coming up!

HT

Behind at the break

We go into the break a goal behind but that's not been a bad half from the Cherries.

Iraola's team have certainly had the better of the chances but have gone without reward thus far.

We'll be back for the second half in 15 minutes.

45+1'

Added time

We're into the one and only minute of additional time at the end of the first half.

41'

Battling away in the rain

It's tough conditions out there for both sides with Storm Ciaran making its presence felt.

Both teams are adapting well though, and that's leading to an entertaining one.

Despite being a goal behind, the Cherries certainly aren't out of this tie and are giving as good as they're getting.

36'

Looking for a way back in

Cherries go from left to right as Kluivert plays a pass across to Semenyo.

He takes a touch onto his left and then slams low and hard at the bottom corner but Kelleher is down quickly to save.

31'

Liverpool take the lead

AFC Bournemouth 0-1 Liverpool

A corner isn't cleared by the Cherries and it bands around the box before being hammered at goal by Elliott.

Gakpo flicks it and Radu saves well but the Dutchman is there again to slam the ball in.

It's unfortunate for the Cherries who have deserved more from the opening half an hour.

29'

Another nearly!

A long pass forward is met by Kluivert who plucks the ball out of the sky effortlessly.

The winger then comes forwards a little before laying off Kerkez.

He shoots first time but Kelleher gets behind it and hold onto the shot.

27'

Safe hands from Radu

Liverpool are the next to get forward well and Elliott should really score.

Szoboszlai gets to the byline and cuts it back for the midfielder.

His first-time shot is within Radu's reach though, and the 'keeper does well to hold onto the low shot.

25'

A big chance goes begging...

Cherries attack excellently again and cause Liverpool some problems.

Philip crosses to an unmarked Semenyo at the back post but the best he can do is lay it back to tee up Christie.

He shoots first time and the left-footed strike curls away from the far post and behind - close!

19'

Liverpool threaten

And there's that constant threat of danger from the Reds...

Cherries have been on top in the early stages but like a flash Liverpool find a gap in the defensive line and Salah is bearing down on Radu's goal.

Ultimately, he prods wide and the linesman's flag means it wouldn't have counted anyway, but it shows how dangerous Klopp's men can be.

13'

Kluivert again!

The Dutch winger has started lively and tests Kelleher again.

Picking up the ball on the left he turns well and sets himself in but at a tight angle.

He then looks for the bottom right corner but a strong left hand from the Liverpool 'keeper prevents him.

12'

First chance to the Cherries

The first shot on target of the evening comes and it's Kluivert who has it.

Iraola's side get forward well before Christie pings and excellent cross to the Dutchman.

He tries a first-time volley and finds the near bottom corner but Kelleher gets behind it well.

9'

Dom finding gaps

One thing's been for sure from the start of the game, and that's that Solanke can cause issues here.

He's managing to get into good spaces in between the Reds' defenders consistently and get in behind.

It hasn't led to any chances just yet, but the potential is certainly there.

5'

An even start

Both the Cherries and the Reds are moving the ball around well in the opening stages.

A few half-chances have just gone astray for the home side while Liverpool, of course, are looking like they could be deadly in an instant.

1'

Let's go!

Szoboszlai gets the first half underway and we're up and running at Vitality Stadium!

19:40

Warm-ups complete

The lads are done with their prep and have headed back inside ahead of kick-off.

We're now just five minutes away from getting underway!

19:30

Out on the grass

The lads are out warming up and the stands are slowly filling ahead of kick-off.

We're set for a blustery one tonight with Storm Ciaran passing through.

The weather conditions may well add an interesting element to tonight's tie.

19:20

Skipper Smudge

Adam Smith returns to the starting XI this evening for the first time since Everton away.

With Neto still absent due to injury, the vice-captain dons the armband.

Saturday's captain Lloyd Kelly is also rested this evening and doesn't make the matchday squad.

19:00

The lads are in

The lads have arrived and they're getting changed to head out to the pitch to warm-up.

We'll have a full house at Vitality Stadium tonight, with the Carabao Cup clash a sell-out.

Hopefully, the packed-out stands can roar the lads onto the competition's final eight.

18:55

Liverpool's line-up

And here is how Jürgen Klopp deploys his team tonight.

They've made nine changes from the 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last time out.

Only Szoboszlai and Salah remain in the starting XI.

18:45

The team

Here's how we line-up to take on the Reds tonight!

Iraola makes three changes from the team which beat Burnley on Saturday.

Coming in are Kerkez, Smith and Kluivert, with Kelly, Aarons and Tavernier coming out of the side.

18:30
