Commentary By

Full-time!

A very happy Vitality Stadium after the Cherries run out 5-0 winners in the Carabao Cup against MK Dons!

Brooks was at the double, as well as goals from Solanke, Billing and Saydee. What a superb performance from Parker's side.

That had, goals, debuts and a clean sheet - a PERFECT afternoon!

88'

How are we all feeling then?

83'

ANOTHER ONE!

Brooks has two... And Saydee has an assist!!!!

The forward slips in the Wales international and THERE is number five! A nice low finish from the right and Ravizzoli can't do anything about it.

80'

SAYDEEEEE ON HIS DEBUT!!

Stanislas does really well on the right and gets to the by-line.

He cuts it back and there is Saydee ready and waiting to tap home on his full debut!

75'

Some more changes...

Watson is off for MK Dons and Martin comes on in his place.

As for the Cherries, it's a first team debut for Saydee who comes on for Solanke... A standing ovation for the striker.

72'

THREEEEEEEEEE

It's Philip Billing who gets it!

It's a bit of a mess at the back for MK Dons and Billing steals the ball in a mix up between the 'keeper and his defenders.

He has Anthony to one side and Brooks to the other, but doesn't need them! A cool and calm finish for the Great Dane!

69'

Chances left, right and centre!

Anthony has a great chance to make it three after being played in by Billing, but his shot is straight at Ravizzoli!

It then falls to Kilkenny on the edge of the box and the crowd are urging him to shoot. He does so and forces Ravizzoli into action again!

68'

A big fist from Travers again...

MK Dons have a free-kick on the far side and Twine rolls it to Darling...

The centre-back thumps his foot through it and it requires a big, strong right fist from Travers to keep it out! A top save.

64'

Time for a change!

Marcondes has played his part and is being withdrawn, and it's Stanislas who is being introduced.

A big cheer from the crowd.

62'

Billing goes close!

Brooks wins a free-kick on the corner of the area and it's Billing who fancied a go...

His powerful effort was on target and Ravizzoli can only punch it over. Very close to a third there.

60'

Celebrations after our second!

56'

Solanke on a roll...

The striker is really enjoying himself. Billing finds him on the edge of the area and he has a go, but the shot is deflected and goes out for a corner.

From the resulting set-piece, the Cherries keep the ball and are looking to work that shooting opportunity.

52'

Travers saves again...

Twine tries his luck from a free-kick 25 yards out. It's on target, but again comfortable for Travers who saves with ease.

Meanwhile, Robson is on and Brown goes off for the visitors.

47'

IT'S TWOOOOOOOOO

Excellent finish from Solanke!

Smith plays it in on the right and picks out Solanke. The striker takes a touch, turns his man and finds the bottom corner.

Superb start to the second half!

46'

Back to it!

MK Dons get us started and the second half is underway!

45'

Half-time!

Brooks' goal from Kilkenny's pass is the difference at the break, but Parker's side have seen plenty of the ball in this first half.

Hopefully an exciting second period to come!

43'

What a feeling!

Our first goal under Scott Parker comes from David Brooks!

39'

Travers keeping busy...

Watson makes a run forward from right-back and drills a shot at goal, but Travers is alert and makes the save low.

38'

We're having to make our first change...

Stacey is forced off with an injury and Zemura is on.

It looked like the right-back picked up a little knock against Chelsea on Tuesday night and had to come off then too.

34'

GOAAAAAAAAAAAL!

THERE IT IS! IT'S DAVID BROOKS!

It's a superb ball from Kilkenny over to Brooks on the near side. The Wales international hits it first time on the volley and it sails past Ravizzoli!

Absolutely brilliant all round!

31'

Another great opportunity...

Again it's Billing who plays it to Brooks. His shot from ten yards goes through the defender's legs but Ravizzoli sees it and comfortably saves.

29'

Best chance of the game!

Billing is in acres of space on the left and lifts his head to find Brooks...

The winger is right in front of goal and just has to slot it home, but it goes over the bar.

Keep pushing, lads!

26'

Good save from Travers...

The ball falls to Twine on the edge of the area and he hits it first time, but it's straight at Travers and the 'keeper comfortably holds.

24'

Looking for that opener...

20'

Superb intensity...

Brooks loses the ball to Baldwin, who immediately has four Cherries players surrounding him looking to win it back.

Marcondes does the job and looks for Solanke, but the pass is too heavy and Ravizzoli collects it.

19'

Good corner from Marcondes...

The summer signing puts a delightful ball into the box and it's right in the middle. Ravizzoli is scrambling but gets a hand on it...

Kilkenny is first to the rebound and finds Stacey on the right, but the flag goes up for offside!

15'

Half-chance for MK Dons...

Kasumu looked to play in Eisa, who mis-controls it and Travers comes to collect comfortably.

The ball back with the Cherries now.

11'

Brooks causing problems...

Brooks is really troubling the Dons defence, firstly taking a curling shot from just inside the area, which Ravizzoli can only parry away.

Moments later, Stacey works a good position but nothing comes of the cross.

11'

Goalmouth scramble!

Brooks does really well on the right and pokes the ball across goal. It falls to Solanke, who sees his shot blocked, before Marcondes can't quite angle his body into a shooting position.

As the ball comes out the other side, Billing puts it back in and Anthony misses it! A good start!

8'

Getting stuck in early on!

4'

Slight opening...

Billing throws it fairly long to Marcondes, who turns his man and tries to flick one into the box but Ravizzoli comes out and catches with ease.

Up the other end of the pitch, MK Dons try to force an attack, but Marcondes wins a free-kick after a high foot from the visitors.

3'

Keeping the ball...

Lots of possession for Scott Parker's side in the opening few minutes.

Brooks has got in down the right-hand side, while Smith draws a foul on the left.

The rain has started to come down once again!

15:00

14:05

A thumbs up from this guy!

Emiliano Marcondes will make his Cherries debut today after scoring our only goal against Chelsea in our mid-week friendly.

He signed from Brentford on a free and became Scott Parker's first summer signing.

We can't wait to see him in action today!

14:00

13:45

Latest on injuries...

Scott Parker also revealed the latest injury news in his pre-match press conference.

The head coach told journalists that new signing Leif Davis wouldn't quite be fit for this weekend, along with Arnaut Danjuma.

Steve Cook and Lewis Cook are both slightly longer-term while, elsewhere, the squad is pretty much at full strength.

13:35

What Parker says...

It's Scott Parker's first competitive game in charge today and he's been speaking with the media ahead of the day...

"The team are looking really well. It's been five weeks of hard work, physically and tactically.

"Saturday's brings a game which is a competitive game and one we want to get a positive result from.

"I'm a new voice with a new way I want us to play, and that's going to be a process. I was really pleased with Tuesday night but there's also loads that we can improve on."

13:25

Last time out...

It hasn't actually been that long since our last meeting with MK Dons, as we faced them in the same competition in August 2018.

A 3-0 win for the Cherries that day saw them progress to the next round, as Lys Mousset, Ryan Fraser and Jordon Ibe got on the scoresheet.

It was also the first time that Jefferson Lerma and Diego Rico, turned out in red and black, both making their debuts after a summer transfer.

13:15

Hello and welcome!

Hello and welcome to this afternoon's Carabao Cup game against MK Dons!

It's not only our first competitive game of the season, it's also THE first competitive fixture of the 2021/22 football calendar!

We're really looking forward to seeing what's in store, with fans back in to Vitality Stadium and it promises to be a great game.

Stay tuned for all the pre-match build up and matchday updates you need throughout the afternoon.
