Commentary By

A huge night to forget for us.

Palace defended well and we just couldn't break them down.

If you followed tonight it's not the result we wanted of course, but we appreciate you following our updates and we'll be back on Saturday for the visit of Liverpool to Vitality Stadium.

See you there.

FOUR minutes of added time...

It's been the theme for the whole game really, Palace sitting in as we try to break them down.

Four minutes to take something here...

Guiata at full stretch!

Lerma smashes a low effort from 25-yards, and it's creeping into the bottom corner but for a quality hand by the keeper to claw it out to the left.

Five minutes left for us to salvage something...

More of the same...

We're pushing hard for an equaliser but just CAN'T create a clear opening as Palace sit back and absorb all of our pressure.

It's attack v defence again as we continue to press.

Sub for us...

Hes been itching to come on for a few minutes now, Lewis Cook is on for Billing.

Hopefully he can make the difference in the heat of the action!

What a save Ramsdale...

McArthur gets the ball 25-yards out.

He takes a touch and curls a magnificent effort which is heading into the corner but Ramsdale is able to claw it away to safety.

A brilliant hand by the youngster.

It's from absolutely nothing.

Schlupp dribbles past three players and drives into the penalty area, he gets it onto his left-foot and smashes one low into the corner.

From absolutely out of nothing, we're 1-0 down.

GOAL for Palace.

Jeffrey Schlupp scores.

Solanke absolutely burns Kouyate on the right-hand side and gets the wrong side of him!

He gets free in the box and tries to square it to Callum Wilson for a tap in, but Kouyate did JUST enough to nick it away from him!!

That's a real chance, but yet again some good defending keeps us at bay!

Can we nick it in the final 15 minutes!?

We keep a move flowing really well and Guaita has to punch a cross, it reaches the substitute Francis and he leathers one goalbound but again, some good defending from Palace repels us once more.

Milovojevic now in the book...

We just a ropey moment as Palace broke on us and Zaha was one v one with Mepham in the penalty area.

He hit the deck with minimal contact from the defender, it was a heart in mouth moment but the replays show it wasn't a foul.

Up the other end, we counter well ourselves and Smith gets taken out by Milovojevic for a clear yellow.

Smith has also been cynically fouled by McCarthy who now also goes into the book.

Lerma booked...

Definite yellow card.

Palace clear a corner and Zaha has the ball on the left-hand side.

He's about to start to fully accelerate at our backline but Lerma takes one for the team and clips him - professional foul all day.

Keep going lads!

Double change for us...

Simon Francis will now play at right-back and he comes on for Diego Rico.

That means Adam Smith has switched to left-back.

The other change sees Ryan Fraser come on for Arnaut Danjuma.

So it's 4-4-1-1 with Fraser on the left, Francis at right-back, Smithy left-back.

Hopefully it can have the desired effect!

There's not much to say...

We're absolutely dominating and it is like an attack v defence training game (meant respectfully to Palace of course.)

In history we have struggled to break teams down that sit back and defend in sheer numbers, hopefully today isn't the same!

In control but no goals to show for it...

A weird beginning to the half...

Well we're having all of the ball but just can't find a gap in this stubborn Palace back line.

The one chance we've had was that excellent piece of defending from Martin Kelly to deny Callum Wilson and Solanke.

Palace are happy to let Ake and Mepham have the ball to remain solid and compact in their shape.

Superb play!

Solanke bursts in from the left and gives the ball to Lerma in the middle.

He sweeps a brilliant ball out to Harry Wilson, with the midfielder putting in a brilliant cross which Callum Wilson and Solanke missed at the back-post, because of some absolutely excellent defending by Martin Kelly!

It looked set to be tapped in but for the Palace full-back, superb defending unfortunately for us!!

We're back underway!

Callum Wilson kicks us off here and we'll attack with towards our away fans, they're not behind the goal but they're to the right of where we're attacking.

Palace have made a change and James McCarthy is now on for them to replace Andros Townsend - a defensive switch perhaps.

No changes for us.

The second-half can't be as dull surely! Stick with us for everything you need to know as we look to earn that W on the road!

Well it's not been vintage, but with Palace down to ten men, it gives us a real chance in the second-half.

The funniest thing has to be that Adam Smith is being constantly booed by the home fans for having the audacity to be fouled for a red card.

Football eh!

Half time here, we're going to get into the warm, see you back here in 15! Don't go anywhere!

Two minutes of added time...

That will round off what has been - besides Sakho's red card - quite dull.

We've probably had one clear-cut opportunity through Billing, but that's been it really as we try to break down ten men.

Battling hard for the opener!

Great chance!!

Some really patient build up from the Cherries sees Billing zing a beautiful crossfield ball to Rico on the other side.

Solanke and Rico combine and the striker gets in the penalty area!

He tees up Billing who sidefoots an effort just outside the area - completely unmarked - but it was straight at Guaita.

It was a really clever cut-back from Solanke as well!

Palace have settled since the change...

Kouyate hasn't really been tested yet at centre-half, as Palace are trying to keep the ball - understandable with the man less.

I have to say though, Adam Smith (who is being booed by the home fans for being fouled by Sakho for the red card...) is having an excellent evening against Zaha.

Still 0-0 and all to play for!

Eyes on the prize!

Substitution for Palace...

We never wish injury on anyone, but one of their biggest attacking threats, Patrick van Aanholt has been forced off with an injury.

Jeffrey Schlupp is on and is a straight swap at left-back.

As we say, sad to see a professional injured but selfishly, that could be good for us!

A very good opening!!

Harry Wilson does so well on the right, he evades two tackles before the ball richochets to Solanke on the right.

He's got room and Harry Wilson is in acres on the edge of the box but he just can't find the killer pass with Wilson extremely well placed and screaming for the ball!

Palace do look open at the moment though, particularly when the ball reaches our wide men.

A reshuffle for Palace...

They've gone 4-4-1 with Cheikhou Kouyate playing centre-back now.

Hopefully that's a vulnerable area for us to exploit!

The problem is coming up against ten men is they always sit deep and actually become more compact, making it tougher to break them down.

But we've got well over 60 minutes to do it, hopefully we can!

The home fans are applauding him...

It's a brainless tackle to be honest, it's really high and reckless on Smith.

The ball bobbled up in the air and it was a knee-high lunge really! Referee Anthony Taylor had no hesitation!

That's good for us, hopefully we can make the extra man count...

Two good tackles on Zaha by Smithy...

He seems to have recovered well from his illness!

Zaha is one of the players you worry about when he goes one-on-one with Smith and the full-back has done superbly both times!

Looking to make it work down the left...

The game has settled...

We had a little spell for a couple of minutes but both teams are still trying to suss each other out.

Jefferson Lerma has just had an effort blocked but apart from Zaha's decent-ish chance, it hasn't happened for either team yet.

We're trying to be entertaining we promise!

Decent opening for Palace...

The home side counter on us and Andros Townsend whips a superb ball to the back-post.

Wilfried Zaha brings it down and cuts onto his right-foot... he's surrounded by Cherries shirts so he's put off from shooting and turns back when extremely well placed!

Fortunate for us but good defending to put Zaha off the shot!

Looking to make an impact back in the team...

We've started well!

It's been a good poening five for us and Arnaut Danjuma is looking very, very lively.

It does look like we're trying to exploit Palace's right side as most of our attacking threat has come from that side.

Seconds ago, Vincente Guaita punched a cross in the area which Danjuma headed on back into the mixer, but no-one was there to apply the finish!

A decent start from us so far...

First effort at goal...

... and it's well over.

Chris Mepham fouled Andrew Ayew and Palace had a free-kick 25-yards out and it looked a dangerous position.

But fortunately, Luke Milovojevic blazed it over. Trying to type that name at speed by the way... difficult!!

We are underway!

Let's go lads!

We'll attack towards the passionate Palace Holmesdale Road End in this first half.

Cookie <3

The teams are out...

Nathan Ake leads the boys out here for the first time in the Premier League.

Love it! Hopefully we can get something for the travelling fans who are in fine voice here to our right in the freezing cold.

Stick with us and we'll keep you posted with every key moment, incident, formation change, you name it we'll bring it to you here.

Head-to-head records...

Just before we get started tonight, we'll have a quick look at the head-to-head record between the two sides.

And it looks positive for us!

We've won four of the past ten meetings, with Palace winning two and another four being drawn.

And the goals have rained in when the teams have done battle, with 17 scored in four previous Premier League games at Selhurst Park.

So hopefully that can continue in our favour this evening!

And one to watch from them?

After a run of 13 league games without a goal (which is surprising for a player of his class), Wilfried Zaha seems to be back on track.

He's now scored in successive league games for Palace, and he seems to be well up for it against us.

Zaha got two assists and ran the show the last time we were here, so hopefully we can stop him this evening.

He's bang in form...

Harry Wilson has caught the eye, of course for his free-kicks but also for his superb cameo against Spurs.

His two goals almost earned us a point, but they also made him the club's top scorer this campaign.

On top of that, he's also bagged three goals in his past two away games.

Go on Harry, magic man!

So, what can we expect from Palace?

There's a few interesting stats to highlight about the hosts tonight.

They've lost their past three home league games (albeit against Liverpool, Man City and Leicester!) But they were previously unbeaten in six home games leading up to that run.

During that unbeaten run, we all remember the 5-3 defeat that we suffered here last season, but since then, the Eagles have only scored FIVE home league goals - that seven matches ago.

However, boss Roy Hodgson has never lost four successive home Premier League fixtures in his illustrious career to date, take that one however you will!

So a mixture of encouragement and pessimism to take from that!

We'll be wearing black armbands...

... to help show our support to Benik Afobe and his family following the tragic passing of their daughter Amora, who was only the age of two.

Once you're a Cherry, you never leave the family - nothing we say or do can compare to what the Afobe family is going through, but we're with you Benik.

Captain Nath!

Team news is in!

An hour before kick-off and our team is announced!

The headline news is that Steve Cook misses out with a wrist injury, so Nathan Ake is captain for the Cherries this evening.

Chris Mepham therefore takes his place in the starting line up, with Philip Billing also recalled after missing Spurs through suspension.

Harry Wilson's two-goal salvo means he's restored to the starting line 11 and Adam Smith has recovered from illness.

So there's plenty going on with four changes!

Selhurst is ready...

It's cold, it's very, very cold.

But we're all set and ready to provide you all the coverage you need this evening as AFC Bournemouth take on Crystal Palace here at Selhurst Park!

It's a big game for both sides as the December fixture rush begins, with the Cherries facing their second game in four days.

We'll have you covered on the live blog, and live audio commentary as well, so join us!
