FULL TIME

WHat a result.

Our biggest ever Premier League away win and we did it in some style!!

David Brooks scored early on before a brace from Joshua King made it 3-0 before half time.

Callum Wilson added a fourth in a brilliant display!

Thank you for following these updates this afternoon, your support is much appreciated. Absolutely top stuff all round!

90'

Two minutes added on...

What a performance so far.

Still two minutes to keep our clean sheet intact.

The game is petering out though as we speak, I would be surprised if there's any more goals...

87'

Surman booked...

That gets the biggest cheer of the day from the Watford fans.

He slides in on Femenia, miss times it but it's a fair yellow out by the right touchline.

84'

Another good break...

With the away fans in great voice, we charge forward again.

Surman plays a great pass for King who threads in Stanislas.

With Smith on the overlap, Stanislas looks to find him but Femenia almost ran into him and win the ball.

Look so dangerous!

81'

Love it...

79'

Close!

Lerma does superbly!

He fights and harries two Watford players for the ball, wins it superbly whileo on the ground.

The crowd applaud and King drives forward into the area as a result.

He smashes a low drive looking for his hat-trick, but Foster keeps it out with his foot!

78'

Final change...

Surman is on for Lewis Cook in a straight swap.

We're in a privileged position where we can protect three of the lads going away on internationals.

Who'd have thought that before today!

77'

Unlucky!

A brilliant play, at least 25 passes (if I can count properly!)

It eventually reaches Stanislas on the edge, he threads in Wilson who is upended by a good tackle in on goal, but the ball bounces but it JUST doesn't find Gosling who's waiting!

71'

Salute!

70'

Second sub for us...

Brooks, who scored the opener for us, makes way for Gosling.

So it looks like King will now play wide, with L Cook, Lerma and Gosling in centre midfield.

More of a move to keep it tight perhaps.

68'

Holebas is booked...

That's a dirty one that.

Brooks plays a pass and he just wipes him out, elbow first. That's really poor.

65'

First sub for us...

Fraser, after another big shift, comes off for Junior Stanislas.

Stanislas will play in Fraser's left-wing spot as a straight swap.

He should have some joy with the way we've pressed and harried this half.

61'

Great chance for five!!

Wilson bullies Holebas and forces him to give the ball away.

Fraser gets it and it's three on two!!

He drives down the outside but before he can find Wilson or Lerma, he is well tackled!

We're still playing with the same intensity despite it being 4-0 - relentless.

57'

Cookie we see you!

56'

Penalty appeal waved away!

King gets the ball and he's on the right in the box.

He's awaiting contact and he gets it, Cathcart steams into the back of him, and it's not given!

A few journalists in the press box say 'if it's not 4-0 he gives that...' Make of that what you will!

55'

Double change for Watford...

Mariappa and Success are on for Gray and Hughes.

Not sure if that's an offensive change or not.

All of our subs are warming up as we're playing simple football to see out the result.

53'

Nearly five!

A corner is swung in from the right and it's like a laser to Ake's head in the middle, he makes good contact but Foster is alert to smother the ball!

49'

ON fire!

47'

4-0!!!

WOW!

Fraser swings in a cross from the left and Wilson lobs the 'keeper with his touch in the area, follows it up and taps in!

Another superb goal and it's 4-0! SCENES!

afcbTV should have some unreal footage, Callum ran straight for our camera!

46'

4-0!!!!!!

WILSONNNNN!!!!!

46'

Back underway...

More of the same please lads!

Our fans are loving it, we'll attack towards them as well this half.

Jonathan Moss is getting booed by the home crowd, but not sure what else he could've done with the penalty.

King kicks us off, let's go!

HT

HALF TIME

Well, WHAT A HALF!

We have given ourselves a commanding lead and we played some sublime football.

Let's keep it up in the second-half and see where it takes us!

David Brooks got us going early on, before two strikes from Joshua King have given us a comfortable lead - with a Christian Kabasele red card in between.

Right, we're going to warm up for 15 minutes, what a performance see you shortly!!

45'

45: YES!

Deserved!

Wilson does so well to beat the offside trap, dinks a simple sensational cross to the back post, perfectly weighted, and King does really well to nod it across Foster and into the corner!

Another exquisitely crafted goal! GREAT STUFF!

45'

3-0!!!!!!!!!!!

JOSHUA KING HAS A SECOND!!!!!

45'

43: Seeing it out...

I know we're not near the end of the game, but we are near the end of the half.

We're playing simple balls when we get it, nothing rash, just keeping it ticking over.

It's similar to our reaction when we went ahead at West Ham earlier in the season, very conscious of our position.

39'

Coooooool...

35'

Almost THREE!!!

Another excellent attack!

King slams in a volley and it cannons off a Watford defender and it fizzes narrowly wide of the nest post with the home fans in panic in the main stand.

We're playing with real swagger and Watford are now looking to break on us to stay in the game and weather our storm!

33'

33: So, let's recap...

King gets free down the right-hand side and he gets the wrong side of Kabasele.

He drives into the area using his strength and pace, Kabasele just brings him down and gets a blatant second yellow!

King dusts himself off to slot into the bottom right, sending Foster the wrong way.

GET IN THERE!!!

32'

GOALLLLLL!

2-0 here!
32'

33: King to take...

He won it, he'll take it...

32'

PENALTY TO US!!!!

AND A RED CARD FOR KABASELE!!!

28'

A battle so far...

28'

Great block Ake!

Watford work it well and get the ball down and play.

Pereyra threads in Femenia down the right and his cross is superb, but Ake is there at the near post to slide in and divert it away from impending danger.

Top, top defending. I don't want to jinx it, but we've defended very well here, particularly with Watford's strong, direct style.

24'

Chance!!

Wilson goes close!

Brooks crosses from the right after an initial corner is recycled, and Wilson steams onto it with his head to divert it narrowly past the right-post from 12-yards!

Another decent chance!

22'

Second yellow...

Another of the Watford backline in the book.

Cathcart goes in the book for a clumsy challenge on Smith after another good break from us.

Our counter attacking has been excellent today!

Jason Tindall on the touchline makes a gesture to Wilson and King which looks like to us, 'get at those two on yellow cards.'

19'

Great photo!!!

18'

Should be 1-1...

A big let off.

Holebas swings in a high corner and Cathcart is left unmarked in the middle.

He powerfully heads it, it looks like a certain goal and the Watford fans can't believe he's powered it wide.

A bit lucky there, but we'll take it...

16'

A real physical test so far...

15'

14: WHAT COUNTER!!!!

From a block on the edge of our box to the ball in the net!

Smithy blocks and Fraser steams forward in his own half. He plays a sensational ball down the left for King and he crossed to Wilson at the back post in the blink of an eye.

Foster pulls off a miraculous stop from Wilson who was three-yards out, before Brooks showed massive composure just to stroke the ball in for a tap in.

Not sure my words do that counter attack justice, BRILLIANT STUFF!

1-0!

14'

GOALLLLLLLLLL!

DAVID BROOKS!!!!!!

11'

Chance for Watford...

First, Gray has a shot superbly blocked by Ake in the box.

The rebound is kept in the area and Pereyra arrives at the back post and miscues with what looked a certain goal - before Capoue slammed an effort against a defender and Hughes forces a save from Begovic.

A spell of pressure for the hosts here to say the least.

10'

First booking of the day...

Watford swing in a high cross, which has been a feature of their play so far.

Begovic is looking to claim it comfortably, but is clattered by Kabasele and it's a booking.

First for either team.

06'

Another good breakaway!

A good interception by Smith sees Lewis Cook produce a brilliant run and pass, sweeping the ball out wide to Wilson.

He's got room and has three to his left, he plays a superb ball across but Foster again is sharp to come out and thwart King who looked to be in with the goal at his mercy.

Good counter!

02'

Early moment...

A long ball by us sees King drive into space on the left-hand side!

He's chasing the ball onside, but Foster reads and sprints out at full pelt to get it away!

That's not a bad opening...

01'

We're underway...

We get underway and will attack towards Watford's Main Stand this half.

Pereyra kicks us off - click LISTEN LIVE now and don't miss a moment from Vicarage Road!

14:56

Let's go!

The players are out here and Watford have played some dramatic videos to get us going here at Vicarage Road!

Our fans are pumped too, the 'Championes' chant has been whipped out a few times already!

The pre-match handshakes are underway...

14:45

Almost there...

Our players are in the dressing room now after the warm up - by the way, Ryan Fraser looked SHARP in the shooting drill!

Watford are still out here, but we're 15 minutes until kick-off.

14:45

Points gain...

Obviously we are hungry for results, but compared to last season, we're in a great position.

So far this season we have secured 13 points after seven Premier League matches and our previous highest amount of points secured at this stage of a top-flight campaign was eight in 2016/17.

Another three points would do nicely today, a good start has helped us massively this season thus far.

14:38

Thumbs up if you're ready for kick-off!

14:31

Head to head...

The stats don't look too pretty for us!

We have won just one of our last 14 games against Watford in all competitions...

Five of the six Premier League meetings have ended as draws, the other a 2-0 win for the Hornets at Vitality Stadium on the opening day of the 2017/18 campaign.

14:22

Backing us to get a penalty today?

Well, we have been awarded the joint-most penalties in the Premier League this campaign, along with Brighton.

That might affect some of your accumulators today!

We were only awarded three penalties last season as a whole, that just goes to emphasise our attackers' form too!

14:15

Eddie pre-match...

As ever, the manager and a player have to take part in a Premier League interview as part of pre-match preparations.

The boss has done his and said...

“We’re pleased with the way we played on Monday and that’s why we’re unchanged, but today is a tough examination. Watford have good players in form but so do we to, it should be a good game.”

14:05

One to watch...

Argentine Roberto Pereyra has been in great form on home turf.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals in his last eight Premier League appearances at Vicarage Road, that's why he's our opponent's one to watch this week.

Hopefully a good Simon Francis display can nullify him today!

14:00

An unchanged team!

Well, as the headline so concisely explains, it's the same team that faced Crystal Palace on Monday.

Jordon Ibe returns to the bench though and Tyrone Mings, Jack Simpson, Marc Pugh and Kyle Taylor are all playing for the under-21s at Vitality Stadium as we speak.

CHERRIES XI: Begovic; Francis (C), S Cook, Ake, Smith; Brooks, Lerma, L Cook, Fraser; King, Wilson.

13:44

Under-21s...

Our under-21s are in Premier League Cup action at Vitality Stadium currently, Marc Pugh and Keelan O'Connell have scored as they're 2-0 up against Burnley at half time.

Would be a great result for the lads - shame it's fallen on the same day as a first team game!

13:25

Here's an interesting stat for you...

Our attacking play has been highlighted across the national media since the season began.

But when looking for something interesting to talk about, we've found (well, what we think is,) an excellent stat that highlights our attacking prowess.

We've had 178 touches in the opposition penalty box in the Premier League this season, and that's bettered only by the current top four.

Hopefully more of the same today!

13:18

What can we expect from Watford today?

Team wise, Gerard Deulofeu, Miguel Britos Sebastian Prodl and Stefano Okaka have all returned to training.

Watford won their first four Premier League games of the season and caught the eyes of the nation, but they've dipped slightly recently, they're now without a victory in their last three.

But expect a side hungry to bounce back, the Hornets haven't lost back-to-back league home games since May 2017, and even they were against Liverpool and Manchester City.

13:14

Back in white today!

12:48

Our team news...

Will be announced directly from the dressing room at 2pm.

Eddie Howe did say he was pleased with Charlie Daniels' progress as the full-back played 90 minutes for the under-21s in midweek.

Elsewhere, Junior Stanislas has come of the bench in the last two league games, and started the Carabao Cup tie with Blackburn Rovers. With two goals in his last three, he's giving the manager a headache for sure.

Another tough choice for the manager with the deep squad this year!

12:43

Welcome!

It's absolutely tipping it down here at Vicarage Road, but we're live and in place ahead of another Premier League away day!

As ever, we'll have these live text updates and of course, live online audio from Kris Temple and Willo directly from Watford.
