Ref watch: Attwell in charge at Wigan

Stuart Attwell will be the man in the middle for the Cherries’ trip to Wigan tonight.

The tie comes after a 2-2 draw was played out at Vitality Stadium in the third round, with Steve Cook heading home a last-minute equaliser to force a replay.

Attwell has taken charge of eight top flight fixtures to date this season, handing out 26 yellow cards and one red card, but failing to award a penalty in any Premier League match refereed.

His last outing involving the Cherries came back in November, as Eddie Howe’s side were held 0-0 by Swansea away from home.

In the FA Cup, the official’s only game to date this term was Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Norwich at Carrow Road, as the two teams will also need a replay to determine who’s in the hat.

At the DW Stadium this evening, Attwell will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Nick Hopton, with Darren England the fourth official.

Injury news: Howe won't risk Stanislas and King

Joshua King gives the thumbs up against West Ham United.

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he won’t risk Joshua King and Junior Stanislas against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday night.

The pair haven’t played this year so far and the manager doesn’t want the players to pick up another knock by rushing them back.

“We don’t have any fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday night,” he said.

“We’ll still be without Tyrone Mings and Jermain Defoe, the long-term injuries, but we’ll also still be without Junior Stanislas and Joshua King.

“They need a training load behind them before they play to ensure that when they do return, they stay back with us.”
