Well, we've been beaten by the better team.

It's as simple as that.

After an encouraging first half, we just couldn't get to grips with City in the second.

The players go over to clap the fans and the fans applaud. We're in this together.

But the final score from a disappointing afternoon, is Manchester City 4-0 AFC Bournemouth.

90: Three minutes of added time...

89: Shot...

Pughie does really well on the left.

His quick feet get him into the area, he lays off Gosling who smashes a left footer but it's deflected for a corner.

84: GOAL for City.

Danilo scores.

Raheem Sterling does well. Danilo looked to have fouled Smith in the build up and the touchline are furious.

But Sterling slipped in Danilo and the Brazilian sidefooted in inside the area.

83: Huge chance for Aguero...

Sterling slips the striker in on the left, but instead of smashing a left-footed effort across the goal, he tries to cut inside and Cook makes a tackle.

If he hits it, he could've had a hat-trick.

80: GOAL for City.

Aguero again.

Bernardo whips in a great ball from the right onto his left foot, Aguero ghosts in between Cook and Smith and the Argentine is there to nod in from close range.

3-0 here.

77: Silva goes close...

He picked the ball up 25-yards out, drove forwards and looked to curl one but it was slightly over the bar.

Still very quiet in the ground, a very weird game.

70: Double sub for us...

Benik and Lys are going to be given a chance with 20 minutes to go.

They replace Callum Wilson and Jack Simpson.

Looks like we're going to four at the back with Weeman at left back.

Lys will play as the main striker with Benik slightly behind him.

67: Sub for City...

Some life in the ground!

The City fans stand and applaud Leroy Sane who makes way.

Bernardo Silva comes on.

63: Smithy booked...

Aguero went on a marauding run from deep and Smithy brought him down for a yellow card.

Nothing is really happening at all here, City are in first gear while we're trying to get the ball back.

57: Flat...

An extremely flat atmosphere in the ground, as there has been throughout.

City are going through the motions here.

53: GOAL for City.

The ball comes into Aguero's feet and he dinks a ball over the top first time which Sterling races on to and completely unopposed in the area, he smashes a low one past Begovic.

46: Last ditch!

The ball bounces kindly for City and David Silva looks certain to score with the ball in the box but Cookie makes a perfectly timed sliding tackle to thwart the danger!

45: We're back underway...

Surs is back out which is good news.

City kept us waiting before the whistle was blown to restart.

We'll attack towards the away fans this half. Go on lads!

Well, we've looked OK!

One moment has cost us, but it wasn't of City's own creation.

We've looked fairly comfortable - and offered a goal threat towards the end of the half.

Not too bad, we'll see you in 15 minutes.

45: Injury time...

Two minutes to round off the half.

Surman went off just before the board went up for a brief spell, he was feeling some pain in his shoulder.

He was struggling but it back on, we'll have to see if he is taken off at the break.

43: Ending strongly!

A ball from Pughie sets Ibe into space on the left, he cuts inside and troubles Otamendi, with the defender sprawling.

Ibe has a shot and it deflects for a corner.

From the resulting corner, Ederson has to punch. We're causing them problems!

39: Two good chances!!!

Fraser sets Ibe in behind and it's a race between him and Ederson!

Ederson just wins it but the ball eventually falls to Wilson who can sidefoot it first time for an open goal but he takes a touch outside the box and it's so unlucky!

Could be level in a flash!

A goal down...

... but we're not being calved open at all.

Just one piece of play for the goal has been able to penetrate us so far.

31: Decent opening for City...

We have a spell on the ball but City break.

Sane gets released down the left-hand side and his dangerous cross is collected by Begovic.

26: GOAL for City.

Aguero scores.

We try to play out from the back but City nick it.

Fernandinho swings in a cross and Aguero is completely free at the back post to nod it in.

We're a goal down despite looking solid.

26: Great strike...

Otamendi smashes a clean strike from 35-yards, the technique is superb but Begovic gets across to punch it away to safety.

20: Aguero...

Good chance.

We're not pressing the City back three and it's clearly part of the gameplan.

Otamendi launches a long ball forward in towards Aguero and it's accurate, the Argentine brings it down beautifully but tries to chip Begovic and it flies well over.

Unfortunate for Junior...

12: Not good for us...

Junior is limping off.

It was after that opportunity he fell slightly awkwardly.

So an early enforced change, Pughie is on for Junior.

10: Decent chance!!

Ibe takes the ball down the right and drills in a lovely ball.

Stanislas is there to meet it in the area on the volley - it's a decent effort which whizzes just wide of upright.

Unlucky that!

06: First real City attack...

De Bruyne gets the ball at an angle 25-yards out and whips in a superb ball.

Cook is there to meet it before it can get to Aguero with a superb header.

A nothing contest so far before that moment, we're looking to keep it tight early doors.

01: Junior gets us underway...

Attacking away from our fans this half, the Cherries get us underway.

Can we do it? Go on lads!

The teams are out!

Not the loudest atmosphere we've experienced in the league, maybe that's because of the expectancy of the City faithful.

But the players are lead out by vice captain Andrew Surman and they applaud the travelling faithful.

Not a busy press box either - but hopefully we're here to upset the apple cart!

The boss in his pre-match interview...

Jordon Ibe...

He played in the number 10 role against Chelsea and almost scored.

In the warm up today, he's just slammed three consecutive efforts past Aaron Ramsdale in the training goal.

Three lovely finishes, a sign of things to come!?

Good to see the skipper!

Not on the bench due to injury, Franno has travelled with the squad to lend his support.

A first ever Premier League appearance...

... for Jack Simpson.

After two fantastic Carabao Cup displays, Simmo is in from the off.

Dan Gosling also retains his spot from Chelsea, while Wilson, Ibe and Stanislas return from the off.

TEAM: Begovic; A Smith, S Cook, Ake, Simpson, Fraser; Gosling, Surman, Stanislas; Ibe, Wilson.

The manager on the game...

"I think we have to believe. I always maintain that, no matter who you play, you have to believe you can win. In saying that, it's going to be incredibly difficult.

"I think we need a mixture of things - we need our players to perform at an extremely high level and we're going to need to be defensively very good with the attacking players they have."

The lads are here...

Everyone is in the building!

Team news is 25 minutes away, with the injuries the manager has a lot to ponder.

Jermain Defoe, Joshua King and Charlie Daniels will all miss out, while Harry Arter is a doubt after limping off in midweek.

The positive Chelsea display will also be fresh in his mind - come here at 2pm for full team news first.

The hosts...

Manchester City have won all five Premier League meetings between the two sides and are unbeaten in the last 11 league games, winning nine and drawing two.

They've also scored two goals or more in their last 11 consecutive league matches.

So we have a lot to do - but never rule us out!

English managers at the Etihad...

Well, the last English manager to win at the Etihad was former Cherries boss Harry Redknapp.

That was back in 2010 when his Spurs side were winners here, with Eddie Howe looking to follow in his footsteps today.

We've arrived at the Etihad ahead of another big Premier League fixture!

Everyone out there says there's no hope for the Cherries today, but you never know.

After two good showings away from home against Chelsea and Manchester United, could we be in for another here today?
