FULL-TIME: AFC BOURNEMOUTH 2 ESTORIL 1

It's all over at the Marbella Football Center, and the Cherries kick off their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win over Estoril.

Second half goals from Jordon Ibe and Max Gradel secure the victory for Eddie Howe's side.

And the manager will be pleased with plenty of aspects of his team's performance, as well as minutes in the bank for a large number of his squad.

83 MINS: CLOSE

Max Gradel is bundled over 20 yards out and dusts himself down before stepping up to take the resulting free-kick.

The forward gets the ball over the wall but is unable to get quite enough dip on it to trouble Thierry.

71 MINS: GOAL!

AFC Bournemouth are back in front through the hugely-impressive Max Gradel.

A patient, passing move down the left suddenly sees Gradel spring into life, twisting away from three challenges, exchanging passes with Sam Surridge and then curling a shot into the far corner from a tight angle.

It's a great goal.

65 MINS: SUBSTITUTION

Joshua King gets 20 minutes under his belt as he continues his comeback from injury.

Last season's top scorer is replaced by Sam Surridge in a planned substitution.

65 MINS: GOAL

Estoril level from the resulting free-kick.

Eduardo steps up and curls a left-footed effort over the wall and into the top corner, past the despairing dive of Federici.

64: BOOKING!

Cherries goalkeeper Adam Federici is given a yellow card.

The former Reading man rushes out of his area to deal with a long ball and, sliding to connect, blocks the ball with what looks like his chest.

However, the referee has other ideas and awards a free-kick and a booking for the stopper.

58 MINS: BOOKING

Estoril substitute Carlinhos is first in the referee's notebook for a cynical foul on Max Gradel, who had broken from the edge of the area and made his way past the halfway line.

54 MINS: GOAL!

AFC Bournemouth break the deadlock and it's Jordon Ibe with the goal!

Baily Cargill rises highest to meet a long clearance and heads back into midfield, where Max Gradel picks up on it.

The Ivorian schemer takes a touch before releasing Ibe in behind the Estoril defence with a clever pass.

And Ibe keeps his composure to slot past an onrushing goalkeeper.

51 MINS: SAVE!

Jordon Ibe cuts in off the right and unleashes a shot which is heading for the top corner before Thierry parries it to safety.

SUBSTITUTIONS

Cherries boss Eddie Howe has made 11 changes at half-time. AFC Bournemouth will now line up as:

(4-4-2): Adam Federici; Matt Worthington, Simon Francis, Baily Cargill, Tyrone Mings; Jordon Ibe, Dan Gosling, Harry Arter, Kyle Taylor; Max Gradel, Joshua King

HALF-TIME: AFC BOURNEMOUTH 0 ESTORIL 0

Honours even at the break at the Marbella Football Center.

Lys Mousset, Connor Mahoney and Benik Afobe have all threatened for the Cherries, while at the other end, goalkeeper Artur Boruc has made a couple of decent saves to deny Allano and Kleber.

45 MINS: SAVE AND CHANCE!

Charlie Daniels strides forward from left-back and, having reached the edge of the area, pulls the trigger.

His rising drive is tipped over the bar, however.

From the resulting Ryan Fraser corner, four Cherries players rise inside the six-yard box but one of them - Benik Afobe - nods off target.

39 MINS: SAVE!

Artur Boruc comes to AFC Bournemouth's rescue again.

After Benik Afobe is robbed inside the centre-circle, the ball is worked forward quickly, with Matheus Indio feeding Allano on the left-hand side of the penalty area.

The Estoril forward drives a low, angled strike but Boruc is equal to it with a smart save.

31 MINS: SAVE

Connor Mahoney sprints down the right touchline before finding Ryan Fraser, who has burst forward from his full-back role.

The Scotland international delivers a cross which is met by Lys Mousset but he can't glance his header past Thierry, who saves.

28 MINS: DRINKS BREAK

It's a scorching night in the Costa del Sol, and so referee Jose Maria Aranda has called for a quick drinks break, to allow the players to rehydrate.

The sprinklers are also on to water the pitch but the game should be back underway any second.

19 MINS: CLEARED

Nathan Ake's misplaced pass to Lewis Cook is seized upon by Estoril just inside the Cherries' half.

Their Portuguese opponents break at pace with the ball eventually finding its way to Joel, wide on the left.

The full-back's deep cross is dangerous but well dealt with by Charlie Daniels, who heads clear.

12 MINS: SAVE!

The action is up the other end this time, with Cherries goalkeeper Artur Boruc called into action as he does well to get down to his right and parry a fierce, diagonal drive from Estoril forward Kleber.

7 MINS: SAVE!

Lys Mousset, who has looked lively in the opening exchanges, picks up the ball on the left from a throw-in and beats his marker before delivering to Connor Mahoney.

From around 15 yards, the summer signing unleashes a low shot which is destined for the bottom corner until the intervention of Thierry's fingertips.

2 MINS: CHANCE

Andrew Surman floats a diagonal ball over the Estoril defence for Benik Afobe to chase.

The front man looks to connect with his head but Estoril goalkeeper Thierry is quick off his line to gather the ball before Afobe can pounce.

1 MIN: UNDERWAY

AFC Bournemouth's first pre-season friendly of the summer is underway.

Captain-for-the-day Andrew Surman won the toss and switched ends at the Marbella Football Center.

COUNTDOWN TO KICK-OFF

There's less than 15 minutes until kick-off at the Marbella Football Center.

Warm-ups are complete, the players are back in the dressing room and the Cherries' first pre-season friendly is edging ever closer!
