Thanks for following...

Despite dodgy internet and frantic football, thanks for following our text updates and if you followed the live audio commentary.

It's much appreciated. We'll see you next week for the FA Cup game against Wigan - thanks again!

FULL TIME

Well, we were behind twice so we have to take it.

That game could have swung either way, but we take a point from our first game of 2018.

It was scrappy, but Callum's leveller has earned a draw and the players and staff applaud the travelling fans.

90: Three minutes of added time...

We're on top...

But it could swing either way. A goal for either side will surely win it...

88: Chance for Brighton...

Knockaert is direct and drives at our defence.

He gets a ricochet and hits a high one over the bar in a good area in the box.

Close.

85: Ryan again!!

Another scrappy piece of play on the edge and Wilson collects it in the area!

He smashes a high one which Ryan is able to catch!

We're having the better of it!

83: Frantic!

Either side could win this!!

Daniels gets in the area and crosses, but Ryan is there to cover.

A real scrappy game, the pitch is cutting up massively, but a good chance for both teams to take maximum points!

79: An old fashioned scramble!!

It bobbles about in the area and it's not cleared by Brighton three times, but it ricochets to Wilson in the box - it's the only bit of quality about the goal but he's scored a lovely touch!

GET IN! 2-2!

GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!

WILSONNNNNNN!!!!!

75: Sub for Brighton...

A pause in play as Schelotto goes down injured.

Bruno comes on for him as Brighton.

Mat Ryan previously was warned for timewasting as he kicked the post, as they are beginning to try to play down the clock.

72: Off the post!

Ibe causing problems!!

He hits a low one from 25-yards which hits the post and comes off Mat Ryan to safety!

So so close, that rebound could've gone anywhere!

71: Final sub for us...

Gosling comes on.

Harry Arter makes way for him.

67: Should be 3-1...

Izquierdo races through on the break from our corner and travels 70-yards.

He seemed to panic as Begovic took a step forward and the Bosnian was able to make a crucial stop.

Should be 3-1.

65: Second sub for us...

Benik makes way for Lys Mousset.

Big chance for the Frenchman to impress here!

61: Penalty appeal!!

Francis crosses and Wilson looks to meet it - it appears he is pushed or at least nudged by Schelotto.

Wilson throws his arms up but the referee was unmoved.

60: Sub for us...

Nathan comes on as expected.

It's for Pughie, but it won't be a back five.

Smithy goes to left wing, Franno right back and Ake at the heart of the defence.

59: Great block by Cook..

A header out by Daniels is met by Gross and he smashes one from the edge and it's Cookie who chucks himself at it.

Moments later Duffy has a great chance from a corner, but Smith makes a block.

All happening.

57: Nathan Ake coming on...

Ake is stripped and ready to come on.

This could mean plenty of things, it could be a back five, or a straight swap for a defender.

Either way, the Dutchman is coming on.

53: Save by Begovic!

A routine stop for the 'keeper as Knockaert tries one from 30-yards.

It swerves slightly awkwardly but Begovic gets down low to catch it.

End to end at the moment.

52: Positive from Ibe!

He motors towards the area, skinning two men and carry it with great confidence.

His effort is blocked, but Ibe is causing problems.

49: Close!!

Ibe with a chance!

He plays a one-two with Wilson and gets in behind...

It's a tight angle and he tries to loft it over Mat Ryan but the 'keeper does well to stand tall and parry it away.

The rebound cannons off Ibe for a goal kick. Instant response.

47: Murray taps in with ease...

Gross plays Izquierdo in behind with a fine pass.

He unselfishly squares it to Murray who is able divert with ease in the area.

2-1 down.

GOAL for Brighton.

Murray scores against us...

45: We're back underway...

Dale Stephens kicks off and we'll attack towards our away fans this half.

Go on lads!

HALF TIME

Since 2015/16, Steve Cook has scored 8 goals, only Scott Dann has more.

And Cookie's header has paid dividends here, we fell behind to Anthony Knockaert's goal after five minutes.

But the defender's header has levelled the scores in an entertaining game here at the Amex!

See you in 15 minutes for the restart!

44: Big chance for us!!

Lewis Cook with a brilliant run!

He drove down the right on the break and skipped past a challenge... he cut it back and it fell to Pughie who smashes it first time but again, another GREAT save by Ryan to keep it level!

Really good strike from Pughie!

43: Brighton should be ahead...

Gross splits our defence and sees Izquierdo get the ball five yards out.

He hits it straight off Begovic before the rebound hits him on the head so he can't divert it for the tap in.

A let off for us!

42: Good move!!

Pughie and Ibe combine on the left and Pughie gets to the byline.

He skins Scheletto and puts in a cross to Wilson, who's first touch is excellent on the chest, but his effort is deflected into the hands of Ryan!

39: Danger...

A set play sees Knockaert get it wide right, and he swings in a decent ball which Begovic is forced to parry over.

Good goalkeeping.

37: Great effort!!

Top save!

We have a set play 30-yards out and Ibe just rolls it to Daniels.

It's a wonderful strike, clean and firm, but Ryan again makes a really good stop low to his left.

Unlucky, we're well on top at the moment.

33: Towering header!!

Steve Cook's second of the campaign!

A lovely corner from Ibe is high to the near, Cook is there with a monstrous leap to nod it into the fair left corner off the bar and in!

Get in!

GOALLLLL!

WE ARE LEVEL!

STEVE COOK NODS IN AGAINST HIS FORMER CLUB!!

30: Save!

Top effort from Ibe! A very similar effort to the last two games where he has gone close, he dribbles past a few before wrapping a vicious 25-yard effort, which is heading to the bottom corner.

But for Mat Ryan, who gets down low to parry - very unlucky!

28: Chance for Murray...

Great save by Asmir!

Not sure if it's going in, but Murray got the ball on the right side of the box and hit a firm strike first time which evaded Daniels' challenge, but Begovic got a magnificent hand to palm it away.

22: huge shout for a penalty from Arter!

A lovely passing move with one-twos and one touches results in Arter smashing an effort, which had a decent trajectory, closed down by Knockaert whio flung himself at it.

May be outside the area, but his hands are up in the air.

18: The game has slowed down...

... and the pitch has really cut up early on, which won't suit us.

It's 1-0 but we've grown into it, it's not the dominant Brighton spell of earlier on.

We're enjoying the ball, but nothing clear created apart from Callum's effort on goal.

13: Decent chance!

Well played!

Daniels swings in a really accurate cross for Wilson and he takes it first time, with Ryan at full stretch it just whizzes narrowly past the post.

Good strike from Callum, better from us.

08: Nearly 2-0...

The hosts well on top.

This time the assist-maker for the first Izquierdo goes close.

He cuts inside from the left onto his favoured right foot, 25-yards out. The winger smashed one but it flew narrowly wide of the far post with Begovic at full stretch.

05: Not the start we had in mind...

Izquierdo found space in the box after wriggling past two men, we're not sure if he shot or crossed it but either way he hit one at the back post which Knockaert was alive to tap in at the back post.

Not the best defending from us, we're a goal down after five minutes.

GOAL for Brighton.

Knockaert scores.

01: We're underway...

No long sleeve shirts in the Cherries line up today (one for the kit lovers!)

Cherries fans in fine voice as Benik kicks us off.

We'll attack the main stand in the first half, click LISTEN LIVE to get free audio commentary around the world!

The players are out...

A good atmosphere despite a few sore heads in the crowd I'm sure!

Franno leads the lads out as we look to set the standard for the year ahead.

The players applaud the travelling faithful as they line up for the pre-match handshakes...

Kick off rapidly approaching...

Let's start the year right!

All the players are in the dressing room making the final preparations for 12.30pm.

The Cherries are backed by a big following to our right behind the goal, an early start for them but great numbers!

Head to head...

Well we've won two this season already.

We edged the home Premier League game 2-1, then a few days later, Joshua King's strike secured an extra time Carabao Cup victory.

That means we've won the last four in a row against the Seagulls, with Albion winless in the last eight against us.

For once it seems, the head to head is largely in our favour!

One to watch...

It has to be Pascal Gross.

He's been hugely creative for Chris Hughton's side, scoring four goals and making five in the Premier League - one of those assists coming against us earlier in the season.

He's also created 40 chances for his team mates according to Squawka, so he'll be one we have to keep quiet to stop the home side's attacking impetus.

So, what can a result do for us today?

Here's the league table.

A win could take us five points off the drop, as West Ham don't play until tomorrow. We could also leapfrog today's opponents.

Could be a big day for us today!

TEAM NEWS!

Benik Afobe starts up front alongside Callum Wilson after his display against Everton in one of four changes from the Cherries.

Marc Pugh, Harry Arter and Charlie Daniels also return to the starting line up.

Two goal hero Ryan Fraser travelled but misses out through injury.

TEAM: Begovic; A Smith, Francis, S Cook, Daniels; Ibe, Arter, L Cook, Pugh; Afobe, Wilson.

New Year's Day...

Our last New Year's Day fixture came in 2014... and it was Brighton away!

It finish 1-1 in the Championship that day.

Elsewhere on New Year's Day today, the following games are taking place:

3pm - Burnley v Liverpool

3pm - Leicester City v Huddersfield Town

3pm - Stoke City v Newcastle United

5.30pm - Everton v Manchester United

 and ...

We'll be in our green and black third kit today for the third away game this season.

The previous two have seen us pick up four points (one at Swansea and three at Stoke.)

The manager is into superstitions, so that may have played a part in the choice!

Team news...

Having such a small gap from the Everton game, the manager could make changes.

The winter schedule has been tough on the squad, with Andrew Surman, Jermain Defoe, Harry Arter, Joshua King and Charlie Daniels all picking up injuries.

King is expected to miss today so Benik Afobe could be in line to start after an industrious sub appearance in the win over Everton.

Elsewhere, Daniels could return to the defence after sitting on the bench against the Toffees.

A lot for the manager to ponder!

A first away victory since...

Having taken Manchester United and Chelsea close, we're without a victory in the last four away games - since the 1-0 win over Newcastle in November.

A great opportunity to secure a valuable result today!

The hosts will relish being at home today...

Brighton can open a seven-point gap above the bottom three with a win over us today.

The Amex has proven to be a real foundation for Albion, as they have only lost one of their last nine home league games.

The only goals Chris Hughton's side have conceded in their last four games at home came in the 5-1 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday 2nd December.

Happy New Year!

Let's start off with a bang!

We're already at the Amex Stadium as the Cherries face Brighton today, I'm sure there will be a few sore heads in the press box!

Another big game in prospect, giving us the chance to make it seven points out of the last possible nine.

We'll bring you all the updates with live text and audio commentary.
