FULL TIME

A point is is then, a share of the derby spoils.

Ryan Fraser's first Premier League goal of the season was cancelled out by Charlie Austin's leveller.

Probably a fair result for us, with Palace coming up next week.

Thanks for following, and we'll see you next week at Selhurst Park!

90: Chance!!

A high corner from Ibe is nodded on by Ake but it's just narrowly over Forster's bar!

90: Final sub for us...

Weeman, our goalscorer, gets a standing ovation.

Afobe comes on.

90: Into injury time we go...

Three minutes of it.

Can either side nick a winner??

88: Chance!

What a ball from Surman, he dinks it to Fraser, who crosses to Wilson.

His side-footed effort in the box is extremely well blocked!

Defending stoutly...

84: Sub for saints...

Gabbiadini comes on. They're in the hunt for another goal, not just to see it out.

81: Good chance...

A great cross in from Bertrand on this left-hand side and Austin rises highest to meet it in the middle, but his header is over the bar.

Austin could do better, Saints looking the more likely to score at the moment.

Keep going lads!

76: SAVE!!

Forster springs into action!

King hits a firm strike which the 'keeper parries away - and the rebound HITS Wilson and goes wide!

Unlucky!!

74: Sub for Saints...

Mario Lemina comes on for Dusan Tadic.

We're getting a bit more of the ball in these past few minutes, higher up the pitch too.

71: Another chance...

Tadic tees up Boufal in the box and he has an effort which deflects narrowly over Begovic's bar.

That's another opportunity for the visitors, they're well on top.

67: Double sub for us...

Defoe comes off after an industrious shift. Wilson comes on.

Stanislas understandably comes off, not a bad showing in his first game back. Ibe comes on.

64: Close...

Bertrand smashes an effort in the area low narrowly past Begovic's post.

Southampton on top.

61: Saints level.

Redmond's low cross is diverted by the unmarked Austin in the centree to bury it.

It's probably been coming judging by the last ten minutes or so to be fair.

GOAL - Southampton level.

Austin scores.

58: Close for Saints...

Bertrand whips in a cross from the left, it's dangerous and Austin gets a touch but Begovic saves!

Seconds later, Boufal is in acres of space, feeds Tadic in the six-yard box, but somehow it stays out!

Saints should be level.

56: Save!

Forster again forced into action!

Stanislas gets it on the edge and tried to pass one into the corner, but his finessed effort is palmed out again by Forster!

49: CLOSE!

Jermain does really well!

He feeds King who gets half a yard, scuffs a shot which looks like it's perfectly into Junior's path at the back post but he just can't get that crucial toe on the ball!

So so close!

48: Save!

Southampton have started brightly.

Boufal found half a yard in the area and hit a low one which Begovic has to claw out.

He got down low quickly, but Redmond has, early on at least, made an impact.

45: There's a half time change for Saints...

Nathan Redmond, the player who was confrotned by Pep Guardiola in midweek, replaces James Ward-Prowse.

We've just got back underway now, we'll attack the main stand in this second half.

HALF TIME

Well, that was good!

1-0 thanks to Weeman's first Premier League goal of the season... It's been competitive and we're a goal up at the break!

Time to grab a hot drink to warm up, see you in a few minutes!

44: Big chance...

Bertrand crosses from the left and Boufal in space in the box blazes over.

He didn't have anyone around him, good for us it sailed harmlessly over.

42: That is a class finish!

Hoedt tried a cruyff turn very deep in his own half for the third time...

and gets robbed!!

King calmly dispossessed him, played it to Surman who helped it on to Fraser, who curled a brilliant finish into the corner!

Lovely goal!

GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!

WEEMAN HAS SCORED!!!!!!

38: DANIELS!

That is so close!!!

It's very similar to the area of his Man City goal this season!

He smashes a first time effort, not a volley, and it whizzes narrowly past the post from 25-yards! A lovely, lovely strike again -  but just wide.

It's heating up...

32: Save!

Up the other end Asmir keeps it 0-0!

Tadic's effort in the box was well kept out by the Bosnian!

This is livening up!

31: Huge talking point!

Well, Smithy has been booked for diving!

It looks like a penalty, but Smithy drove at Boufal and was brought down.

Referee gave it as a dive straight away, Jermain couldn't believe it and has been booked for dissent.

A big talking point!!

27: Long range effort...

From Jeremy Pied!

He smashes one from 25-yards and it fizzes just wide, that is close - not a bad effort...

Fiercely contested...

24: Over!

Lewis Cook tries his luck after a lovely piece of interplay with Stanislas, but from 25-yards his swerving effort flies over the bar.

We're back enjoying a really good spell, well on top at the moment.

Need to make it count though!

21: Another save!!

Forster again!!

Lewis Cook puts in a delightful cross and - similar to his goal against Saints last year - Ake fings himself at it with a diving header but Forster again is on hand to keep out the effort from the back post area!

Two big saves in quick succession!

20: WHAT A SAVE!

Forster!

The ball bounces kindly for Smith and he shoots, Defoe diverts it goalbound and Forster somehow tips it away - not sure how!!

17: Almost...

Lewis Cook is looking lively.

He sprayed a ball over the top for King and it looked like the striker would be clean through... but Van Dijk JUST got a touch to divert it away.

Unlucky, but Southampton having a bit more of the ball as it stands.

11: Big chance for Saints...

A free header from a corner.

Ward-Prowse whips in a high one and Virgil Van Dijk meets it, completely unmarked, but diverts it wide.

Should score that, a let off for us.

10: A little spell for us...

We've just enjoyed a really good portion of possession around the Saints' penalty area.

The crowd urging us on but we can't make anything of it. Good from us though!

05: A quiet opening five...

Neither team can get a string of possession going, lots of misplaced passes early on.

Southampton are looking to get Betrand in behind on the left hand side, combining with Boufal, but nothing has been effective of yet.

01: We are underway...

Kingy gets us underway here in a big game!

The crowd are already in great voice - a different feel to this one.

The teams are out...

Come on lads!!

Franno leads the team out and the main stand is in excellent voice.

A good feel in the ground today!

The strikeforce...

Is well underway as both sets of players leave the pitch from the warm up.

What's going on with the visitors?

A recent win against Everton saw the Saints score four times, but apart from that, they have lost three of their last four Premier League matches.

The Saints have scored just 22 goals in 25 league matches since the start of April.

Goals?

We've scored in all 10 league home fixtures against the Saints.

Joshua King scored his first home goal of the season as well in mid week, is this a good sign for more goals!?

The boss talks about the squad...

Ready...

One to watch...

Southampton start with Charlie Austin up front, after his two goal salvo against Everton last week.

In midweek, he played seven minutes against Manchester City so heads into the game against his former manager fresh.

The striker has netted three times this season, twice against Everton last week and once against West Ham in August.

Five changes...

Adam Smith, Lewis Cook, Ryan Fraser, Junior Stanislas and Jermain Defoe all return for the Cherries.

LINE UP: Begovic; A Smith, Francis (C), Ake, Daniels; Stanislas, L Cook, Surman, Fraser; King; Defoe.

Head to head...

Well, unfortunately guys it's not good!

Southampton have won four league games at Vitality Stadium, with each one a 3-1 defeat for us.

We've won one and lost five of their last eight meetings... Hopefully a change today!

Ref watch...

Jonathan Moss is the man in the middle for the derby.

The fourth official has taken charge of ten top flight fixtures to date this season, most notably Manchester City’s 5-0 win over Liverpool in September and Tuesday night’s six-goal thriller between Watford and Manchester United.

Team news...

Is just under an hour away.

The manager is expecting it to be slightly too soon for Junior Stanislas, although he did admit he'd make a late call on the winger.

Here's what Eddie said about the rest of the side: "Making changes is a difficult one, we've been in good form and been pretty stable throughout that run.

"Do we change things off one result, it's our third game in a week and I also have to have that in mind."

Did you know?

Jermain Defoe's first ever Premier League hat-trick came against Southampton, all the way back in December 2004.

That was the first of four top flight hat-tricks...

It's a big one...

Welcome to Vitality Stadium for our south coast derby... it's Southampton at home!

A big game in the calendar, we'll have all the updates ahead of a huge game for both clubs.
