FULL TIME

A spirited display but not enough to get us a share of the spoils.

Good heart shown by the lads against tough opposition.

Thank you all for following the game tonight and it's a big one next Saturday against Southampton away!

See you in a week-and-a-half's time.

90: Four minutes added time...

We don't look like getting anything but you never ever know!

We've done it before...

87: Close!

We've ended strongly here!

Dan Gosling gets the ball short from a corner and is in space.

He whips a shot towards the far corner but it just doesn't dip in time and flies just over.

Into the final five minutes we go...

82: Over from Mousset!

United have plenty of bodies behind the ball but Mousset cracks one from distance which whizzes over.

Not a bad effort - now Joshua King makes way for Jermain Defoe.

Another late JD goal perhaps?

Is there a late comeback in this one??

75: Another change for us...

Second sub for us.

Andrew Surman comes off to a good ovation, to be replaced by Dan Gosling.

We head into the final 15 minutes...

75: Another change for us...

Second sub for us.

Andrew Surman comes off to a good ovation, to be replaced by Dan Gosling.

We head into the final 15 minutes...

GOAL for Manchester United.

We've had a really good spell, but United counter to devastating effect.

Pogba collects the ball and steams forward, he slips in Lukaku who scores yet again against us with a dinked effort over Begovic.

Unfortunate, but we're 2-0 down.

Herrera makes way now for Nemanja Matic.

68: Surman booked now...

The game is very very frantic.

Referee Graham Scott getting plenty of stick from the home faithful.

Surman is deservedly booked though, as he smashes into Herrera.

A few niggly fouls creeping in to the game now.

62: Good chance!

Lewis Cook with a brilliant surging run!

He gets Wilson away in behind and Jones just does enough to push him wide - but Wilson gets an effort away which cannons off Jones!

Unlucky! We're having a decent spell as Romelu Lukaku replaces Jesse Lingard.

60: Smalling and Cook on yellows...

Smalling was yellow carded for bringing down Wilson while Steve Cook took a yellow for the team as Pogba looked to race away.

Not sure on Smalling's but Cookie's was definite.

58: Chance!!!

Mousset makes an instant impact!!

He beats Darmian and it allows Daniels time and space in the box.

It's a dangerous area and the left-back hammers one which deflects over!

56: First sub...

Lys Mousset comes on - he replaces Jordon Ibe.

It looks like 3-4-3, with Mousset, Wilson and King as a front three.

55: HUGE PENALTY APPEAL!

A really good move!

Fraser releases King and the Norweigan slams a brilliant ball in towards the back post.

Wilson is there to tap in but he doesn't make contact after a tussle with Luke Shaw!

Not sure about that one!! Wilson is furious!

48: First yellow...

In fairness it's great play by Jesse Lingard.

He steams away from two players and Lewis Cook brings him down.

Definite yellow, tactical booking.

45: Come on lads!

We kick off and a big half awaits!

The Cherries will attack the Vitality Steve Fletcher Stand in the second half.

As mentioned in the last post, we score mostly in the second-half at home!

No changes for either side... Let's go!

HALF TIME

We're a goal down, but we're not in a bad position.

And besides, one of our last 12 home goals have been in the first half anyway!

Chris Smalling's tap in separates the teams, but we looked lively - in particular at the back end of the half.

Half time, we're 1-0 behind.

44: Save!!

Nathan Ake does so well! He bulldozes his way into two challenges, wins them both and King gets it 25-yards out.

At a slight angle, he smashes a powerful effort which is central, but De Gea has to parry it away!!

Unlucky!

43: Another decent break!

Just the final ball!

Wilson whips a fine ball round the corner for King to steam down the left, he beats his man for pace and gets in the area.

He has three to pull it back to but just can't pick anyone out quick enough and Matteo Darmian clears.

35: Ten minutes of the half to go...

United trying to slow the game down - keeping the ball in tight areas as we look to steal it to get a breakaway.

We're still more than in the game, when we do get it in the final third we do look threatening.

30: Swift counter!

Lewis Cook leads the charge and drives forward towards the United backline. He slips it to Fraser who is pushed by a defender but he stays on his feet and gets a shot away.

It turns into a tame effort but it could have been a free-kick - still a really bright breakaway as we look to get back into the game.

GOAL for Manchester United.

Jesse Lingard gets free down the right hand side and he has the simple task of squaring a pass to Chris Smalling who steams in to tap in in the six-yard box.

We've given ourselves a lot to do but we have the league high for points gaines from losing positions...

27: Great save!

A really good tackle by Rashford 40-yards out sets himself away...

He drives into the area and rifles a vicious effort - it's going in but for an excellent save by Asmir Begovic!

Two strong hands from the Bosnian keep us ahead.

We're looking the more lively going forward...

23: Side netting!!

Lovely counter!

Lewis Cook releases Ryan Fraser on the left and he gets in the box, United are on the back foot, but the shot deflects off a defender and bounces into the side netting!

Not one where the ground thinks its in, but close!

20: A lul in play...

United are trying to keep the ball and be patient in their build up, whereas when we get it, we're looking to get in between lines quickly.

No real chances for either side yet, both teams defending stoutly.

Not a bad start!

10: Good opening!

Unlucky!

Jordon Ibe slips a lovely ball in behind for Callum Wilson and he tussles with Phil Jones - it looks ominous for the United defender but he does just enough, Wilson is extremely unlucky not to go clean through.

Moments later, Ibe shoots himself from 25-yards but it's wide - still two decent openings for us!

04: Great tackle!

After some positive pressing from us - Anthony Martial gets free down the left but an excellent Steve Cook challenge stops him from putting a dangerous centre in the box.

That aside, we've pressed high and had one or two decent moments.

01: We're underway...

Marcus Rashford kicks us off and we're underway.

We'll attack the Ted MacDougall Colmar Construction Stand in the first half - go on lads!

Simon Francis leads the lads out alongside David de Gea's Manchester United.

Head to head...

Well the record isn't great, but it is Manchester United!

We've beaten them once in the Premier League, winning 2-1 at Vitality Stadium in December 2015.

The Cherries have a total of two wins 13 games against United in all competitions - the other coming in the FA Cup in 1984.

"We are not safe."

Eddie Howe in his weekly press conference: "One or two disappointing results and you can tumble down the league. From our perspective we've been consistent in our league position for a while due to our form and being difficult to beat.

"We've been picking up points all the way through, and we don't want to lose that position, we are not safe.

"The quality has been higher than it has ever been, so when you see that Manchester United are second they have to see that as a really good season and progression for them."

Can this man be the difference?

He's scored for us twice against his former club, including a memorable winner in our last win against Man United.

Joshua King has also scored three in his last six games - we're not gamblers but is he our best bet for a goalscorer today?

One to watch...

Well, I had these stats lined up all day!

It was going to be Romelu Lukaku, as he's scored six goals in his five league appearances against us, including the winner in December's game at Old Trafford.

BUT as he's on the bench, we'll go with David de Gea. Captain for them tonight, he's kept a league best 16 clean sheets and has made some simply breathtaking saves this campaign.

Despite them making seven changes, they're still strong...

Our team...

Is in!

Andrew Surman and Callum Wilson return to the starting XI tonight...

IN TEXT: Begovic; Francis (C), S Cook, Ake, Daniels; Ibe, L Cook, Surman, Fraser; King, Wilson.

We always regurgitate this stat...

But it's worth sharing!

And it shows just what character the team have shown this season.

We have earned a league-high 18 points from losing positions - we're sorry to keep bringing it up, but it is impressive!!

A stat to look out for...

Man United's last ten away goals all have a common theme.

They have all come after half-time - does that mean they're slow starters? Or clinical when it matters?

How do the visitors look heading into this one?

Well, Sunday's defeat against West Brom on Sunday ended United's five-game winning streak in the league.

Jose Mourinho's side could lose consecutive Premier League fixtures for the first time since May 2017.

But before that, they'd lost one in seven - so it's a fairly in form side heading to Vitality Stadium this evening.

Welcome!

It's a blazing hot day on the south coast - let's hope the weather remains throughout the evening for another big game at Vitality Stadium.

Juggernauts Manchester United are in town and you can follow how we get on on Instagram, Twitter and these text updates.
