Thank you...

...thanks once again for following and if you watched the stream!

We didn't get any reports of problems with the reception this end, but as always feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

What did we do right? What did we do wrong? Tweet us at @afcbournemouth, we value your feedback on our output.

Thanks for following and we'll see you in midweek for Yeovil away.

A big thanks once again!

That's it.

Orellana's stunning effort is enough to win the game for Valencia here.

It's nice to be unbeaten, but a really stern test for the Cherries today ahead of the new season. Just what we need!

89: Worth a shout!

Worthington plays a great ball into Fraser, and the winger turns into the box and goes down...

Nothing given, but Fraser was sandwiched between two Valencia defenders.

87: Unlucky!

Cornick finds Fraser and his cross is about to find Whitfield but for a superb interception. Cherries on top at the close of play.

83: Not far over...

A good move culminates in Arter picking the ball up 20-yards out and hitting a firm strike, but it flies over. Not the worst effort...

He's relentless isn't he!

Arter is still harrying and hounding as we'd expect, trying to motivate the team and lead by example.

78: 12 minutes left...

... since the subs, the game has slowed down. Valencia have made nearly all of theirs, while the Cherries have made five.

It's halted the eb and flow but hopefully an equaliser is coming!

That is some strike.

The Spanish commentator is going absolutely mental in front of us.

Like seriously, he's buzzing.

We're not however, as Orellana curls a majestic strike from 25-yards right into the top corner. A great goal to be fair.

69: Another Cherries change...

Begovic will make way now.

Ramsdale will play his second game in two days.

67: Triple Cherries sub...

The young lads are getting some minutes here.

Cornick, Worthington and Harfield on.

Defoe, Brad Smith and Mahoney off.

Cornick will play up front, Harfield at left-back, Worthington at right back. Fraser now on the right wing.

That means...

...that Whitfield will play in the number ten role with Fraser now at right back.

61: First sub...

Youngster Ben Whitfield, who has really impressed on loan at Yeovil Town and Kidderminster Harriers over the last two years, gets the chance to impress today.

He'll come on for Adam Smith. We'll let you know how that alters the team shape.

Begovic rises high over Zaza to claim a high ball. Not had a lot to do so far... hope that doesn't jinx it!

56: Save!

Negredo picks the ball up 20-yards out and curls a lovely low effort which Begovic gets down low to carry away.

Good goalkeeping, got down sharply to make it look an easier save than it was.

54: Should be a yellow...

Mahoney skins Medran on the left and he gets his shirt blatantly pulled.

Cynical and a clear yellow in other circumstances.

Lovely touch and run from Mahoney though.

Not literally as the headline and photo suggest, but Arter is getting stuck in as ever.

46: Valencia...

Have made five subs.

I'm literally fixated to the teamsheet to work out who's gone off.

All I know is Negredo, of Boro last season, has come on and has clattered Ake.

46: We're back underway...

...refuelled with a coffee and a bit of pizza me and the team (who obviously didn't eat pizza) are back underway!

No subs for us.

So, we're locked at 0-0.

Not a lot in it, intriguing to see Valencia's possession based style.

Defoe's half chance and Cook's header are what we've created, but it's 0-0 at half time.

I'm going for a drink, see you back in about ten minutes time!

44: Decent opening...

... Rodrigo has caused some problems down the left.

He gets lots of room out wide leaving Ake trailing. He crosses but just as Zaza is looking to apply the finish, Brad Smith gets there in the nick of time!

40: Five minutes...

... until half time.

Not a lot separating the two sides.

A good test for the Cherries so far, all that matter in pre-season!

36: Decent chance!

Fraser whips in a beauty of a free-kick from the right and Cook, who doesn't usually do normal goals, glances a header narrowly wide of the left post!

Go on Weeman!

Look at that face!

Fraser tries to unlock a tight Valencia defence...

Still 0-0 with 15 minutes left of the first half.

Here's Jermain's chance.

A great take, he's made a career off those half chances.

Looked really sharp in the box when it arrived. Exciting for us!

26: Fiesty!

Harry Arter steams into a 50/50 and nicks the ball, and the rebound falls to Zaza who Gosling clatters!

Some strong tackles but all well spirited, that's what we like to see!

25: Goal kick, free kick?

Begovic gets fouled in the box and looks to take the free-kick quickly, but twice he is stopped by referee Lee Probert.

No sure why! Either way, we're back underway eventually.

Defoe gets his chance!

Mahoney puts in a great ball from the right and the striker makes excellent connection, but almost hits it too well and it flies over!

Lovely take from Defoe, unlucky.

Jermain's back at Vitality Stadium and is in the thick of the action.

Still 0-0, he hasn't had that big chance yet...

16: Close shave...

Parejo slings in a corner and Gimenez gets a really firm header on goal in the box which whizzes just over.

That's a real chance.

14: Half a chance for Valencia...

Gaya plays a sublime ball down the line for Rodrigo, who then plays a dangerous cross in towards Zaza but Begovic is alert to cut out the danger.

Decent opening for the visitors.

10: Opening ten minutes gone here...

So the first ten minutes have gone here...

No chances really of any note. A very competitive test for us so far though.

Cherries as ever look comfortable on the ball, looking for it in tight areas. Dani Parejo standing out for Valencia so far.

06: Another naughty one...

Now Simone Zaza, of West Ham and Euro 2016 penalty miss fame, slides in on Pugh and leaves one on him.

Pugh not happy. Throw in Cherries.

03: A few robust challenges...

Well, first Mahoney gets scythed, Gosling takes one in the face before Defoe gets clattered. Valencia looking to take it seriously!

01: We're underway

Jermain Defoe gets us underway on his Vitality return.

Go on lads!

Minute's applause...

Earlier in the week, we sadly learned that Jimmy White, our youngest ever league debutant.

A great minute's applause is taking place.

He made his debut aged just 15 for the club.

Players are out...

The players emerge from the tunnel and are ready for kick off!

Go on lads! New home kit looking very lovely as well...

10 minutes...

Until kick-off.

If you're not logged in yet, log in to watch our stream!

Big Steve Fletcher is on co-commentary, that's a big treat in itself!

Another one to watch...

Dani Parejo captains Valencia today.

He did wonders for me on my FM 15 save as Chelsea. (Yes, I started as Chelsea...)

But he's good in real life too! A playmaker, one who will set the tempo for the visitors today.

Valencia players to look out for...

Supporters should watch out for Jose Gaya, he's the full back that's been linked with pretty much every top club in this country.

Who isn't! But he's a real threat from full back, a left sided player who played with Spain's under-21s this summer.

Valencia's side...

Subs for today...

Ramsdale, Cornick, Whitfield, Worthington, Harfield, Surridge, Butcher.

A youthful bench!

A little later than billed. But here's our team...

Begovic, A Smith, Cook, Ake, B Smith, Mahoney, Arter, Gosling, Pugh, Fraser, Defoe

Selfie time...

Harry Arter and the lads stop and sign autographs for fans and take photos.

Good stuff lads!

The lads are here!

Team news will follow in approximately 20 minutes, but the lads are in the building!

New additions...

Also, there's a new place for wheelchair users to enjoy the game with some new elevated positions at Vitality Stadium!

New additions...

Supporters joining us today will notice some new changes around Vitality Stadium.

The first is the brand new scoreboard - this photo probably doesn't do it justice!

Lovely stuff...

Bradley Lowery has left a lasting legacy to the footballing world.

Sian Adams sent this in to us of her son at today's game!

Good morning!

It's been a while, Vitality Stadium!

Good morning and welcome to today's live text commentary ahead of our fourth pre-season outing. Spanish side Valencia are the visitors to Vitality Stadium, in what is the first of two home pre-season fixtures before the big kick off.
