The development squad were held to a goalless draw away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their second group game of the Premier League Cup.

Cherries had the best chance of the early exchanges at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head as Michael Dacosta Gonzalez saw an effort cleared off the line.

Dominic Sadi pressed Wolves stopper Joe Young well and claimed possession in the box before teeing up his teammate to loft a shot over Young, but Kam Kandola was in position to clear.

A cagey spell in the game followed before the next close call went the way of the home side.

Midfielder Bruno Jordão skipped past two challenges and hammered a low shot narrowly wide of Cameron Plain’s goal from 25 yards out.

An effort from similar range was slammed at goal by Josh Esen shortly after which called Plain into action, but the ‘keeper got behind it well and collected.

In a spell of efforts from range, Nathan Moriah-Welsh was next to have a crack at goal from distance.

A long ball forward found the midfielder and he raced toward goal before his well-placed powerful shot was tipped behind by Young.

Both sides went unrewarded for their efforts by the half-time break, and the second half continued in a similar fashion to the first.

Ten minutes on from the restart Plain was again called into action, with Owen Farmer played in on goal and forcing quick reactions from the ‘keeper with a powerful shot at the near post.

The early chance proved the final one of the game to test either side’s stopper, with the remainder of the Premier League Cup clash closely fought but ending goalless.
