AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust offer weekly coaching sessions to a variety of different age groups across the local community.

The sessions engage with young people from one years old, to the over 70s, and offer opportunities for all abilities to get involved.

Mini Cherries

Mini Cherries is a toddler football session, which aims to help children learn the basic principles of play such as sharing and communication, along with improving their basic motor skills, balance and coordination.

The most important part of the Mini-Cherries session is the introduction to football for children aged 1-3 years old and enjoyment for learning the game.

The sessions run weekly and are as follows: 

  • Wednesday - 10.15-11am at the Bourne Community Hub for 1-2 Year Olds.
  • Wednesday - 11.15-12pm at the Bourne Community Hub for 3 Year Olds. 
  • Friday – 10-10.45am at Howe Croft Community Centre for 1-2 Year Olds.
  • Friday – 11-11.45am at Howe Croft Community Centre for 3 Year Olds.

Minikickers 

Minikickers is one of the more popular weekly sessions, reaching over 200 children a week at Vitality Stadium.

The sessions, which last an hour in duration, invite children to join in and learn new skills through ball each, skills and dribbling games, along with shooting drills and small-sided matches.

The sessions run weekly and are as follows: 

  • Saturdays between 9-9.55am on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for 4-5 year olds.
  • Saturdays between 10-11am on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for 6-11 year olds.
  • Sundays between 9-9.55am on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches, for 4-5 year olds.
  • Sundays between 10-10.55am on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for 6-7 year olds.
  • Sundays between 11-12pm on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for 8-11 year olds.

Girls Football Sessions

 

 

AFC Bournemouth Girls Football sessions take place weekly at various venues in Bournemouth. Sessions are open to girls of all abilities. Our Girls Football Sessions are supported by Bournemouth University.

  • Thursday – 5.00-6.00pm at Oak Academy Sports Hall for girls aged 5-11 Years Old.
  • Thursday – 6.00-7.00pm at Oak Academy Sports Hall for girls aged 12-14 Years Old.
  • Friday – 5.00-5.55pm at Slades Park 3G pitch for girls aged 5-11 Years Old.
  • Sunday – 11.00-12.00pm at Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for girls aged 8-12 Years Old.

Premier League Kicks 

The Premier League Kicks programmes continues to expand now offering free football sessions in Bournemouth, Ringwood and Verwood.

The popular AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust project offers free football and additional opportunities to over 1000 young people locally a year. The project encourages young people to get involved in playing sports in the evenings and at weekends, which sees them benefit from a healthier lifestyle, improved well-being and most importantly offers them a safe environment to enjoy themselves and have fun with friends.

The Premier League Kicks project offers sessions to mixed groups, as well as a girls only evening session. Sessions for children aged 8-13 years old are coached sessions, whereas sessions for those aged 14+ are tournament style sessions. 

Sessions run weekly and are as follows:

  • Monday – 7.30-9pm at Vitality Stadium 3G pitches for 14-18 year olds.
  • Wednesday – 4.30-5.15pm at Potterne Park 3G pitches for 8-11 year olds.
  • Wednesday - 5.15-6pm at Potterne Park 3G pitches for 12-16 year olds.
  • Wednesdays - 4-5pm at Mudeford Wood Community Centre for 8-11 year olds. 
  • Wednesdays - 5-6pm at Mudeford Wood Community Centre for 12-14 year olds.
  • Friday – 5.00-6.00pm at Ringwood Community Hub for 14-18 year olds. Book here.

Walking Football 

AFC Bournemouth run weekly Walking Football coaching sessions in partnership with Care South.

Walking Football is a version of the popular sport, with a few small rule changes. One of the most important changes being that it must be played at a walking pace.

These sessions are offered to both men and women aged 50+ and encourage them to keep fit and healthy without playing an especially competitive or demanding sport.

  • Tuesday – Recreational session – 10.30-11.30am at the Littledown Centre.
  • Wednesday – Beginners only – 3.30-4.30pm on the Vitality Stadium 3G pitches.

  • Thursday – Recreational session – 10.30-11.30am on the Ringwood Community Hub 3g pitches.
