AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust offer weekly coaching sessions to a variety of different age groups throughout the week. The sessions cover children from as young as one years old, to adults over the age of 50. All of our sessions are varied to fit the age group and abilities of the participants we are working with.

Sessions are run in several locations across Bournemouth and Poole. There is no pre-registration needed for any of these sessions, as they all operate on a turn-up and play basis, all we do request is you provide the coaches with emergency contact details, in the unlikely event something may happen. This will also enable us to contact you regarding any chances to sessions.

Mini Cherries

Mini Cherries is aimed at children of the preschool ages 1-4 years old. These sessions aim to help children learn the basic principles of play, such as sharing and communication, along with improving their basic motor skills; balance and coordination.

Most importantly, our Mini Cherries sessions are designed for young children to have a taste of football and enjoy learning the game.

Wednesday – The Branksome Centre, Poole – 10.30-11.30am - £2.00 per person

Thursday – The Shack, Muscliff – 10.30-11.30am - £2.00 per person

Minikickers

Minikickers is one of our more popular weekly sessions, reaching over 200 children a week at the Vitality Stadium. The sessions lasting an hour in duration invite children to join in and learn new skills through our ball each game and skill drill, along with other shooting games, before finishing with small sided matches.

The AFC Bournemouth sessions take place on the 3G pitches, which are located next to the first team training pitches, behind the South Stand. Run over two consecutive hours, the sessions are aimed at children of different ages throughout the morning.

The popular Premier League funded project enabled AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust to offer free football to over 1000 young people during the 2016/17 season. It encourages young people to get involved in playing sports in the evenings, which sees them benefit from a healthier lifestyle, improved well-being and most importantly offers them a safe environment to enjoy themselves.

The Premier League Kicks project offers sessions to mixed groups, as well as a girls only evening, and all PL Kicks sessions are free of charge. Sessions for boys and girls aged 8-13 years old are coached sessions, whereas sessions for those aged 14+ are tournament style sessions.

AFC Bournemouth run weekly Walking Football coaching sessions in partnership with Care South. Walking Football is a version of the popular sport, with a few small rule changes. One of the most important changes being that it must be played at a walking pace.

These sessions are offered to both men and women aged 50+, and encourage them to keep fit and healthy, without playing an especially competitive or demanding sport.
