Jay joined AFC Bournemouth as performance director in the summer of 2023.
In his role, he oversees all player medical and performance management services.
Jay came to AFC Bournemouth with 23 years of experience working with international athletes and coaches, joining the club directly after helping the Vegas Golden Knights win the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup.
He built and led the medical and performance department for the first six seasons of the Golden Knights franchise, having held a key leadership role with Cirque du Soleil, as the Director of Performance Medicine, for the 13 years prior.
Jay held the responsibility to oversee the care, prevention, and rehabilitation services for over 1300 athletes and 45 full time staff while at Cirque, and was instrumental in building a culture of conditioning, creating the concussion protocols, developing an injury prevention program portfolio, and delivering quality clinical outcomes and analysis.
Additionally, he has several years of professional football experience, holding the position of Head Athletic Trainer for the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer.
Before becoming a sports medicine and performance professional, Jay was an active duty member of the United States Air Force, where he was the recipient of the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and the National Defense Service Medal.
Jay is a licensed athletic trainer, strength and conditioning coach and performance enhancement specialist who holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and a master’s degree from Regis University.
