Michael Dacosta Gonzalez was born in Alicante and lived in Spain for seven years.
He also qualifies for Ecuador through his mother, Guinea through his father and Colombia through his grandfather.
Dacosta Gonzalez started out playing for Alicante before he was scouted by Hercules. He has been with the Cherries since he was 11.
He moved to England with his mother and younger brother Malcom who is also a member of the AFC Bournemouth academy. He also has an older brother and a younger sister.
His favourite player to watch is Neymar because of the way he moves with the ball and makes players look. But he thinks the best player in the world is Lionel Messi.
Now left footed, he preferred his other foot before he was injured when riding a moped with his father as a six-year-old.
Dacosta Gonzalez played a starring role by scoring both goals in the Cherries’ FA Youth Cup third-round win against Exeter City in December 2021.
