Joe Roach was a disappointed man on Saturday as Torquay came to Chapel Gate and came away with a fully deserved 4-0 win. The game was switched to Bournemouth on Friday due to the Gulls pitch being unplayable, but the Cherries couldn't take advantage of playing at home.
Roach was left to scratch his head after the game as to why his put in such a performance, "I can't put my finger on why we played like we did. We lost Tim Stephenson in the morning to a back problem and then Harry Bell pulled out in the warm up, but this is squad game and there are no excuses.

We were sloppy throughout and full credit to Torquay who looked bright, took advantage of that and were enthusiastic and were full value for the win.
We've had a long chat about it and you do get games like this when collectively, you just aren't at it. We have to learn from it and that will probably be the biggest lesson we will learn this year. We had too many players put their heads down and got ratty with each other and that just can't happen."
