The Cherries beat neighbours Southampton 1-0 at Dean Court this afternoon. Alan Connell scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half.
Three triailists have been drafted in with defender Jordan Parker and midfielder Billy Gibson coming in from Watford and Ian Seabrook has come over from the Isle of Wight. Gibson has made one first team appearance for the Hornets and has also played for Wealdstone on loan this season, scoring twice. Bournemouth also included some experience with Warren Cummings, Jeff Goulding and Alan Connell all starting.
The first half was a tight affair with few chances for either side. Dan Thomas though produced a couple of decent saves. The second half was far more open with Bournemouth creating a number of decent chances with Goulding, Connell and Gibson all going close.
The winning goal came after Thomas made a superb save and released the ball to Tom Hill. Hill played in an inch perfect pass to Goulding who picked out the run of Connell who made no mistake.
Saints pushed hard but found Thomas in fine form and in the last seconds, Gibson went close to doubling the advantage with a strike just over.
