Channel Islands born striker who moved to Bournemouth as a 16 year old and made his first team debut as a youth player.  A prolific scorer at youth level, he has netted a number of important goals for the first team and was in fine form during pre season, netting six goals and scored his first competitive goal of the season at Notts County.  It was after the appointment of Eddie Howe though that Brett's season really came alive.  He scored in Howe's first home match against Wycombe and went on to score 15 under Howe to end up with a total of 17.  Included in his tally was a first senior hat trick against Rochdale and the winner of the goal of the season against Exeter.

On the eve of the successful promotion season, Brett extended his contract at Bournemouth by a further three years and opened the Cherries account for the 2009-10 season with a superb strike in the 3-0 win at Bury.  He went on to be one of the most feared strikers in League 2, winning a PFA Player of the Month award and finishing the season with 28 goals and was named as the Player of the Year.  His goal against Burton Albion at Dean Court was voted as goal of the season.
