Harry Corns has started in his new position as Head of Retail and Ticketing. Read about the reasons behind the new position and the move to open Bourne Red late on Thursday's.
Laurence Jones announced on Friday the new structure of non playing staff.
This has taken effect from Monday 10th July. Under the management of Head of Retail and Ticketing the club has merged its shop and ticketing departments. This means that the club shop will be where you purchase your match day tickets on non match days. On a match day the ticket office windows will be manned as per usual.
This initiative has been met with enthusiastic approval of the staff and the clubs partners BourneRed and V4. It is headed up by Harry Corns who has been the Club Accountant since June 2003.
It is a role that he knows he will be able to excel and give him a different type of pressure and one he is taking full on. "I had spent a little over 3 years as club accountant and believed it was time to move on.
"I did not wish to leave the club as it has a real family and community spirit, the staff are not just colleagues they are friends and we are all striving for the best for AFC Bournemouth. My career has spanned many different industries and I did spend nearly 10 years with Grand Metropolitan Retailing and a few years with the Leicester Mercury Retail Newsagents.
"The people that really know me know what I am about and do not see me as just a number basher and do have some good ideas for introducing initiatives to help generate income for the club, indeed the twelve man package was one of these ideas and it is proving very successful."
They also know that while I am committed and excited about this new challenge I will still be happy and committed to oversee the accounts function while the club recruit an accountant."
It is my belief that both the club and fans will see the benefit of these changes - the shop is being successfully managed by Russell Akerman while likewise the Ticket office is been managed by Dyanne Tryska. The move allows us to ensure we are covered in many tasks; we will all be in one place - which means a better service for our customers - you the supporter.
My first task is to introduce an extended opening on Thursday evening's until 9.00pm - commencing Thursday 13th July ( hope its not unlucky thirteenth ) you can purchase match day tickets - you can purchase two-for-one on a number of items in our clothing range, a back2skool pack for your child or that treasured gift for the fan in your life.
We need to be more accessible to our supporters to buy replica and or buy that match day ticket. I was also part of the Dolphin Centre initiative and look forward to bringing the shop to a centre near you very shortly.
