NUNEATON SUPPORTERS BIKE RIDE

Posted on: Thu 09 Sep 2010

This year is the tenth anniversary of a minibus crash that involved supporters of Nuneaton Borough, where sadly three of their supporters lost their lives on their way home from an FA Cup match at AFC Bournemouth.

To mark the anniversary, survivors of the crash along with friends and family are partaking in a sponsored bike ride from Bournemouth to Nuneaton, which is now underway.  All money raised will be donated to the Trent Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, who helped the Nuneaton supporters on  the night, and to Help for Heroes.

They are in Bournemouth tonight and would like to meet up with Bournemouth supporters.  If you are interested in meeting up,

The Nuneaton Town supporters plan to hold a raffle on their return to Nuneaton on the 11th and have asked if anyone would either like to support this by donating a raffle prize or if anyone would like support the Bike Ride by donation please click here for details.

Nuneaton supporter Clive Jebbits said, 'The messages of sympathy and support we received after the crash were incredible especially the ones from your football club and your supporters and it would be really nice if something could be arranged for the two sets of supporters...'

AFC Bournemouth wishes the Nuneaton supporters all the very best of luck.
