MARC PUGH - A GOOD WEEKEND

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010

It was another good weekend for the Cherries and also for midfielder Marc Pugh, who enhanced his growing reputation with a third goal in Bournemouth colours. Since signing from Hereford, Pugh has excelled and the 'excessive' fee Bournemouth were forced to pay after a tribunal is starting to look like a bargain!

It was a great point gained at Huddersfield and the most pleasing aspect was the manner that it was earned and Marc felt the side fully deserved reward, "It was another good weekend for us. The only downside was that we conceded two sloppy goals, one from a corner and one from a throw in when we conceded a penalty. Apart from that I thought we were absolutely terrific.

The lads have continued to show great work ethic and every single person on the pitch deserves so much credit. I thought we defended brilliantly and attacked with a purpose. We had a game plan set out and every single player stuck to it.

We showed our character to be able to turn the game round and get a point. We were up against a big and powerful side who put teams under a lot of pressure, particularly when the crowd is with them. It makes it a very tough place to go to and you can see why they have the home record like they have. I think the fact that their crowd started to turn on them was a great compliment to us. Eddie and Jason want us to pass the ball, and we do that with a purpose. If we need to turn them in the channels, we'll do that. We always stick with what we believe in and even when we were 2-1 down, we continued to pass the ball and create chances and long may that continue.

We have a great buzz and belief about the place day in and day out, whether it's in games or in training. We are looking good and hopefully we can carry that on for the rest of the season."
