This year's Have a Heart Appeal takes place from 15th -19th March and is supporting Starlight Children's Foundation to provide lasting, year-round entertainment directly onto the wards for thousands of children in hospitals and hospices in the communities its radio stations serve. The funds from the appeal will also help Starlight to increase the number of wishes it grants to seriously and terminally ill children.
On Tuesday 9th March, Heart and the AFC Bournemouth visited Poole Hospital Children's Ward to meet some the children who have benefited from the Starlight Distraction Boxes currently in Poole Hospital.
AFC Bournemouth also donated a fantastic auction prize including the chance to be a mascot for the Saturday 3rd Home Game against Bradford City. Listeners were able to bid for the AFC Bournemouth Auction Lot in Heart Breakfast on Monday 15th March from 7am, with the highest bid being a fantastic £225.
Shelley Davies, Heart's Regional Fundraising Coordinator: "It has been great to see so much support throughout the community for our Have a Heart Appeal raising money for the Starlight Children's Foundation. All the money you raise will help Starlight provide year round entertainment to children in the county."
