Travelling north for two tough away games on the back of three defeats, few gave the Cherries a chance of bringing back a magnificent haul of six points. With only 15 players to choose from for the Crewe game, an injury to Marvin Bartley meant Eddie Howe tried to bring in another player on emergency loan, but that was blocked. So at Rotherham on Tuesday, Jason Tindall was added to the already threadbare squad. The Millers had won three of their previous four games and only one at home all season and they knew that a win would bring them to within a point of the Cherries with games in hand.
The spirit and belief though from the Cherries players is outstanding to say the very least. Numbers may be low and things may be against them, but you wouldn't swap any of these lads for anyone else, given their sheer determination and drive to be successful for AFC Bournemouth.
Tuesday was an absolutely fantastic night, the performance terrific throughout. Well done also to the 124 Cherries supporters who managed to outsing the home support and despite being so far from the pitch, made their voices heard throughout and never gave up their belief even at 1-0 down. So let's see Dean Court packed out on Saturday with everyone showing such dedication to the team!
