JOE PARTINGTON

Posted on: Thu 31 Dec 2009

It's been a never say die attitude that has got the Cherries maximum points over Christmas, and now midfielder Joe Partington wants the side to show those same attributes as they enter 2010 with a home match against Northampton.  With Sammy Igoe doubtful and Warren Cummings suspended, Joe will once again have to show his versatility but it's a challenge he his looking forward to.

Joe told www.afcb.co.uk. "We had two tough battles over Christmas.  We all know that we can do better as a team performance wise, but at this stage of the season it's results that count and we are grinding them out.  There are a lot of positives to be taken from the games, so it can only get better.

I think the whole determination of the squad is shining through and we do have a never say die attitude.  That was typified by the likes of Scott Guyett and Anton Robinson.  Scott came in at Cheltenham having not played any football for a few months, and Anton came off the bench and was fantastic against Torquay.  As a young player I can look up to them as an inspiration.

On Saturday we know we will have to change things round again.  I just hope I'm involved and I'll play anywhere.  Everyone has always said that I'll end up as a centre half and after Ryan got an elbow to the face, I ended up there against Torquay.  I'm part of the team and if I'm asked to go back there I will.  Luckily I did alright and if I'm asked to do that again, I'll give it everything."
