Jason Pearce expressed his delight today after he was told he was the League 2 PFA Fans Player of the Month.
The central defender exclusively told www.afcb.co.uk, "It's a great honour to win this and I certainly didn't expect it! It's great to amongst the top in the league for the whole month, so it's brilliant for me. The fact it's voted by the supporters means a great deal to me and I feel very privileged to win it.
I've got the award, but the credit goes to the whole team. The reason we are up there is because of the team ethic we have. We all stick together, everyone gives 100% and that's why we have been getting the results we have been. The credit goes to the team and the management and it feels great to win it."
Manager Eddie Howe added, "I'm delighted for Jason. Jason thoroughly deserves the honour, his attitude to everything he does every single day is spot on. So it's a nice reward for someone who shows the right desire and attitude to everything he does,
It reflects well on the whole team that we have had two awards this season. We are a real team. There are no superstars in our squad and everyone acknowledges the hard work of each other and that is the key to success, team work and backing each other up. Jason has the honour, but it's an honour for the whole team."
