RYAN GARRY ON PLAINMOOR SUCCESS

Posted on: Sun 06 Sep 2009

It was a difficult game for the Cherries yesterday along the coast at Torquay, but the side triumphed 2-1, although from from elated after the game, Ryan Garry felt it was a below par performance with plenty of room for improvement.

The central defender told www.afcb.co.uk; "Fair play to Torquay, they gave us a hard game.  They play in a certain way and you can see that they will get a lot of joy from that.  It's a difficult place to go and play and personally, I don't think we played well, but we picked up the three points which is the main thing.

We are all obviously happy with three points, but know that we weren't all guns blazing and that's something we want to improve on.  As a team, we are a little disappointed with the manner of the way we played because we know that individually and collectively we can do a lot better.  That is something we want to improve on in our next game.

As I say though, they have a certain way of playing and maybe it took us a little while to adjust to that.  Steve Fletcher came on and helped us out massively because it took pressure off the back four.

You have to be pleased with the three points when you don't play well and that is the sign of a good team.  Maybe last year, we wouldn't have got the three points from a game like that because we could have buckled.  We'll take the three points but know that we have to improve our performance come the Lincoln City game."
