The Cherries went out of the Carling Cup last night at the Den, but although disappointed with the scoreline, Eddie Howe told www.afcb.co.uk that it was no disgrace to go out against a side that put in such a good performance; "It was a tough night and you have to take your hat off to Millwall who I thought were excellent. The two goals they scored in the second half were top class.
At one spell in the second half, I thought we had a good chance to get back in to the game. We didn't take our chances and they went down the other end and made it three and one they did that, it was all over.
Their three forwards caused us problems all night because physically and technically they were good. They had a lot of the ball early on so we tried to counter that by matching them up. Ultimately though you can change your system all night, but the simple fact is that they were better than us.
We can take positives though. I thought worked hard and never let our heads drop. Millwall kept the ball well and it was a real work out for us, but there were things we can take from the game and take it in to Saturday which was important.
There is no disgrace in getting beaten by a good side. Of course I'm disappointed with the 4-0 scoreline, but we have positives to take from it and we will now work towards Saturday."
