Cherries keeper Shwan Jalal caught the eye on Friday with an excellent performance against his former club Spurs and is looking forward to facing more quality opposition at Dean Court on Tuesday when Fulham visit (Tuesday 21 July, kick off 7.45 pm)
Shwan was pleased with his performance and how pre season is going in general and told www.afcb.co.uk; "I was happy with my performance last Friday. I was a little disappointed with the third goal because I could have parried it further, but over all I was pleased. I thought all the lads did well. For me it was a little weird to play against my old club. It has changed a lot there, but there are still a few familiar faces and it was nice to catch up with them. It was a great experience to play against such class players, but still felt there were times when we played some really good football and had them on the back foot, particularly in the first half. When they brought fresh legs on in the second half, they showed what depth they had, but overall, we gave a good account of ourselves.
It was great to play in front of a packed stadium, and if we can get crowds approaching that during the season, it would be absolutely fantastic. We know we have to keep giving good accounts of ourselves to keep the crowds coming back, so we will be doing everything we can to assure that happens because the supporters make this club.
I think that the Fulham game will be an equally tough test. They have got some great players, many of them full internationals. I think Roy Hodgson is a quality manager and he has done well there and they are preparing for Europe. It should be a good game against an excellent team and one we're are all looking forward to testing ourselves against.
Everyone is really enjoying pre season and the coaching has been excellent. Every day has been something different and it's keeping the lads on their toes. I feel fit myself and have enjoyed working with Neil Moss and can't wait for the season to start. It's great to be settled here and I'm really looking forward to the challenges ahead. I think with the squad that we've got, that we can be heading in the right direction."
