THE SEASON AHEAD
With the takeover now complete, tickets and season tickets on sale - and selling very well - there is justified optimism around Dean Court at the moment of a bright future and that all starts with pre season. With virtually all the squad remaining from last season, where after Eddie Howe took over, the Cherries were the form team in the division.
Pre season is an important time of the season as the side prepare for the tough League 2 campaign ahead and the club have a number of attractive fixtures to look forward to. It all starts on 8 July with a game at Poole Town and then the next night, our annual match at Hamworthy Recreation. Our first home match sees neighbours Southampton visit on Saturday 11 July. Hopefully by then, the Saints will have their future sorted out and we can all concentrate on what is always a well contested game.
On Tuesday 14th, we make the short trip to Old Sarum to take on Conference side Salisbury City, before on the Friday night, a big crowd is expected at Dean Court as former Cherries boss Harry Redknapp brings his Premier League stars of Tottenham Hotspur down. On Tuesday 14th, one of the most attractive sides to watch in the Premier League, Fulham make the trip down to Dean Court. Not only are they looking forward to a Premier League season, but also a campaign in the Europa Cup.
On Thursday 23rd July, we make the trip to Ringwood Town before completing out pre season matches with a home game against Charlton Athletic and then it all begins for real as we have the journey to Bury!
