NEIL MOSS REJOINS CHERRIES AS COACH
Legendary keeper Neil Moss has rejoined AFC Bournemouth as the goalkeeping coach. Neil was a Cherries supporter as a youngster and came through the ranks at the club, making his first team debut in 1993. He created a club record for consecutive clean sheets before tasting life in the Premier League at Southampton. He rejoined the club in 2002 and was part of the side that gained promotion. He went on to make 221 appearances for the club before being forced to retire due to a hand injury. He had already been coaching before hanging up his gloves and runs the highly successful 'Between The Sticks' coaching school.
It's a move that has delighted Neil;
"I'm delighted and it's great to be back at the club. I've known Eddie throughout my career and we are good friends and it's great to be teaming up with him and with Jason, who I also know very well, and becoming part of their staff. I've known Eddie for 17-18 years and I'm delighted that he asked me to take the role and I'm thoroughly looking forward to coming back and coaching professionally alongside Between the Sticks.
I know the keepers very well here. I've known Dan Thomas since he joined the club and I spoke to Joe Roach when he first came here and he had my full recommendation when I was asked my opinion. I've known Ryan Pryce now for around five years and get on very well with him. I've met Shwan Jalal a good number of times as well, so I know them all and I'm looking forward to working with them and hopefully improving them.

It's 18 months now since I stopped playing and I think if I had done this straight away, it would have been difficult because I would still have the mindset of being a player. I've moved on from the playing side now, I am a coach and have been coaching since I stopped playing. I've done many, many hours of coaching and that is certainly where my future is and I am now looking forward to getting back in to the professional side of the game as opposed to just grass roots. I will continue to do that so I am looking forward to coaching from all the age groups right up to the pinnacle, which is the professional keepers.
It's not just the first team, it will be with the reserves, the youth and the Centre of Excellence. I will be watching as many youth, reserve and first team games as I can because it's in games where it is important that they perform. If things go wrong, I can see it first hand and maybe put sessions on to make them play better in the games.
I will be continuing with Between The Sticks because there is no interference there at all. That is a couple of evenings a week and the good thing about being the boss is that I can change things around as I see fit. On Saturday's when Bournemouth are away, I can do coaching there, but most of my coaching is done on a Monday and Thursday evening, so there are no problems combining the two jobs."
