In the final part of the Eddie Howe interview, the Cherries boss talks about starting next season on zero points and how points deductions have affected the game as a whole;

"I believe we have good players here, but with the massive pressure of the points deduction, I also believe that it was difficult for the players to express themselves fully.  The pressure of relegation has now gone and I believe we can go on and express ourselves further and prove to everybody, not least to ourselves, what a good team we can be because the potential we have here is great.

Despite all the pressures of last season, I think you can look back at every game since I have been in charge and I believe we deserved something out of every one.  It's a fine line in football and you have to take opportunities when they come.  We lost a number of games 1-0 and we need to be turning those in to draws or wins.

Since I have been involved on the management side, we have had two sets of points deductions, so to start next season on 0 points will be a massive boost to everyone at the club.  There is nothing more demoralising than when you get points taken away from you and you are having to play catch up all the time, so it will be a big lift for the boys.

The points deductions hurts everyone at the club, the supporters, the players and the management team.  It would be nice to find a better way to deal with situations like this, and I'm sure the league have thought about it and feel that this is the best way at the moment.  It's not ideal, because most of all it punishes the supporters.  The supporters of Luton Town are now having to prepare for Conference football through of fault of their own.  Maybe putting a restriction on the wage bill may be an option.  I think we'd all like to see different ways of overcoming the problem, to try and find a way that's fair and that everybody agrees with.  We don't want clubs spending beyond their means and I also think that every case should be treated differently.  The climate is such in  football at the moment, that a lot of clubs are struggling financially.  It's more a football problem than an individual club problem because all clubs are struggling.  Already next season it won't be a level playing field in the Football League.  It's a difficult situation in football, and it's the same throughout the world with the recession.  The points deductions are always going to be up for debate and until they come up with an alternative solution to the problem, it will always be talked about."
