CHERRY BEAR BACK IN STYLE

Posted on: Wed 08 Oct 2008

AFC Bournemouth are pleased to announce that Cherry Bear has successfully undergone full body surgery in order to tackle the numerous injuries that have kept him away from some games this season.

The operation performed at Bournemouth General Hospital took place earlier this week, with Cherry Bear recovering well. The operation was funded by the clubs new Mascot Package sponsor Dave Jennings through upthecherries.co.uk. The club would like to thank Dave and his website user's support and look forward to seeing Cherry Bear back where he belongs on the pitch at Dean Court.

As part of Cherry Bears rehabilitation and preparation for the 10th annual John Smith's Grand National on Sunday at Huntingdon, 2CR's mascot came down to help train Cherry Bear on Thursday. 2CRther helped work on Cherry Bears fitness as well as challenged him to a few fitness challenges on the pitch.

A report on the training session as well as video footage can be found on the 2CR website.

After starting as one of the bookies outsiders at 33/1, Cherry Bear came a respectable 6th out of the 67 runners in the 10th Annual John Smith's Grand National. The race was one for the second consecutive year by Wacky Macky of Safon Waldon FC.
