Garry: Players Up For Derby Clash - Team eager to put on show for travelling support
Around 1,000 Cherries fans will be cheering on the squad tomorrow as Bournemouth welcome Aldershot Town back into the Football League in their first home fixture.
The League Two calendar comprises very few short distance away trips and defender Ryan Garry says the squad is determined to put on a good show in front of a packed visiting terrace.
Garry said, "This is our derby game for League Two so all the players are looking forward to it and with it being a sell out the fans are looking forward to it as well. Although we didn't play well at Gillingham it was disappointing not to win the game being ahead so late so we've got to make sure that doesn't happen again this Saturday.
"It's going to be a tough game. They're coming into the League on a high having won the Conference and they have that winning habit from the back end of last year rather like we have. If both teams can bring that form into the match it should be a very good game."
Garry endured a horrid first season at the club suffering a broken shin after such a promising start. That's all behind him now, but with recent defensive additions he knows a first team slot is far from guaranteed. Ryan added, "That's the Manager's decision where he plays me. I'd be happy to play left back or centre back and I feel comfortable in both positions.
"But with Joel Ward and Scotty Guyett coming into the squad you've got to do well in training and matches to keep your place. Joel is a good player and we needed someone of Scott's stature and experience at this level."
Cherries fans are reminded that tomorrow's match at Aldershot has sold out and supporters are asked not to travel without a ticket.
