Partington On Standby For Welsh Under 21s - Vokes also included for 100th match

Wales play their 100th match at Under 21 level next month with a friendly against England at Wrexham's Racecourse stadium. The match, to be screened live on Sky Sports Two, is on Thursday May 15th at 7.30pm.

Sam Vokes, now a permanent fixture in the Welsh Under 21 squad, is named once again. Youth team midfielder Joe Partington is named as a non travelling reserve.

Partington has caught the eye with a string of substitute appearances in the first team and the midfielder scored his first senior goal in Wales against Swansea a few weeks ago.

The squad may be reduced through involvement in the Football League play-offs so Joe may get his chance to step up into the squad.

Welsh Under 21 coach Brian Flynn said, "Using a game against England as a warm-up shows how far we've come. Three years ago they beat us 4-0, but the way the lads have improved since then is a credit to them. I could have picked two squads, such is the strength in depth we have."
