- Cooper Op A Success

Posted on: Wed 06 Jun 2007
Shaun Cooper's groin operation yesterday was a success as the player now begins a four to five week fitness regime to make himself ready for pre-season training.

Cooper was suffering from Gilmore's Groin in the final few weeks of the season and opted for surgery when the injury didn't settle throughout May.

Cherries physio Steve Hard explained, "The surgeon found quite a large tear, but everything went well and Shaun can now focus on regaining full fitness. Week four is the crucial week and that will determine whether he is ready to begin full training."

Here is what Shaun's program will mainly consist of:

Week One
Basic exercises including walking four times a day

Week Two
Light straight line jogging

Week Three
Sprinting and swimming

Week Four
Twisting and ball kicking
