- Bond Aiming To Finish On A High

Posted on: Fri 04 May 2007

Cherries Manager Kevin Bond says the team owe it to the fans to put on a good performance at Port Vale tomorrow.

Neither side have promotion or relegation issues to be concerned about. But Bond is aware that there will once again be a travelling army of Cherries fans taking a day out and spending money to support their team.

Bond said, "The pressure is off in terms of needing something from the game. But the players desire to finish the season strongly is as high as it was to avoid the drop and we want to go up there and put on a good performance.

"There may be nothing majorly significant riding on the game we owe it to ourselves and the fans to go about it professionally and try the best we can. If we don't do that we'll get rolled over so we must stay focused and go for the three points."

Over half the Cherries squad are out of contract after the Port Vale game and Bond has said a positive show will always help any player. He said, "Good performances never do people any harm.

"On the other side of the coin if people show dodgy attitudes in any game they won't be doing themselves any favours so everybody always has something to play for."
