What a wonderful wonderful day! Cherries supporters packed in to the Pirelli Stadium and celebrated long after the final whistle as second half goals from Brett Pitman and Alan Connell secured not only a 2-0 win - but promotion to League 1 to complete a truly remarkable season!

In glorious sunshine, the Cherries started superbly coming close on a number of occasions, notably through the lively Pitman. There was almost a shock though when Shwan Jalal was forced to pull off a wonderful save as Burton threatened for the only time in the half.
It took until the 66th minute for the Cherries to finally take the lead, right in front of the packed away end. Brett Pitman turned to fire home to set up wild celebrations!

With time running out, Alan Connell came on and within second, scored with his first touch of the game to confirm the win and see more delirious scenes!
As the final whistle went, Cherries supporters engulfed the pitch in a very good natured pitch invasion - and credit to the Burton stewards who allowed this to happen with no problems! The players were mobbed as they left the pitch before emerging to celebrate with supporters in the main stand! The champagne flowed, the tears flowed as emotions spilt over - but who could blame anyone after such a wonderful campaign - THE REDS ARE GOING UP!
